Noah Lyles reveals girlfriend Junelle Bromfield’s unique trait that makes him ‘fall in love with her more every time’

Noah Lyles is all excited for his girlfriend Junelle Bromfield after admitting he’s “falling more and more in love with her as” she ignores his sassy image in the song.

Lyles, who won gold in the men’s 100 meters at this summer’s Olympic Games, was one of the most talked about topics at the Paris Games because of his incredible speed and outspoken character.

After winning the 100-meter sprint, the American track sensation boldly declared he would win the 200 meters and “depress” his rivals. However, he settled for bronze, having competed in the race with Covid.

His boisterous personality often puts him in the news, for right or wrong reasons. But girlfriend Junelle pays little attention to this alter ego.

A few weeks after his gold medal win, Lyles revealed how Bromfield, who also competed in the 4x400m and women’s 400m for Jamaica at the Olympics, fell in love with the man who wasn’t on the track.

“Something she says that really makes me fall in love with her all over again is, ‘I don’t really look at his personality on the song.’ That’s not the guy she says she likes,” he said in an interview with PEOPLE.

“Every time she says that, I think I fall more in love with her, because ultimately I’m not going to be a track runner. And if she stuck with that persona, I think I’d be a little sad, because it’s just for the track.

“That’s the energy I bring out there, but that’s not the energy I bring home, when we’re on dates, when we’re inspiring others.”

After first meeting in 2018, Noah and Junelle made their romance official four years later, with the couple celebrating their second anniversary earlier this month.

However, not everything went smoothly in the beginning, as both Lyles and Bromfield were candid about their first date, which would turn into a nightmare.

In a resurfaced clip from the podcast ‘Fast Lane Lifestyle’, they explain why they ‘didn’t click at all’ during their first meeting.

We went on a [first] “I was on a date and I was like, ‘No way, let’s just be friends,'” Bromfield explained, saying she flew from Jamaica to Miami to have dinner with her future boyfriend.

Lyles chimed in: ‘I’m picking her up in my car. I’m excited… I have my all-white Beamer [at the time]. I pick her up from the airport – dead quiet.’

“No words, no talk,” he added.

Bromfield said she was “a little nervous” during their first meeting.

“I talk a lot, but I have to get comfortable before I start taking drugs, and it was only one day,” she said, to which Lyles joked, “A little bit? I got whispers.”

He continued, “I took her to Red Lobster, introduced her to cheddar bay biscuits for the first time. I feed her well.”

However, he explained that it “just didn’t click” and they decided to remain friends.

After a few years, they met again on a night out at the Running Grand, and sparks flew. Now they live together in Florida as two-time Olympic medalists, with Bromfield winning bronze in the 4x400m relay at the 2021 Tokyo Games.
