Noah Lyles admits Cole Hocker’s sensational 1500m Olympics win had him ‘screaming my head off’ after dramatic late dash to win gold
American star Cole Hocker came from behind to win a thrilling 1500-meter race at the Olympics on Tuesday, leaving Noah Lyles “screaming his head off.”
Hocker made a final sprint in Paris to beat Britain’s Josh Kerr, while his American teammate Yared Nuguse also took bronze in third place.
It was a sensational performance from the 23-year-old, who became an Olympic champion for the first time after his heroic display at the Stade de France.
The race was so dramatic that Lyles, who won gold in the men’s 100 meters last weekend, went completely crazy as his compatriot stormed home with the victory.
He wrote on X after Hocker’s win: ”That was an awesome 1500! Cole Hocker, I’m screaming at the top of my lungs!”
