No NBA team scored less than 80 points in a game for the first time since the 1969-1970 season
REVEALED: No NBA team has scored less than 80 points in a single game this season – the first time since 1969-1970 – as the league prepares for the start of the play-in tournament
For the first time since the 1969–70 NBA season, no team scored fewer than 80 points in a single game.
Several games came close to dropping below 80 points, most notably the December 4 game between the Cleveland Cavaliers and the New York Knicks when the Cavs only managed 81 points.
Several factors likely contributed to the record high score, including elevated skill levels and reliance on ranged shooting in the NBA.
The league has also changed its rules over the years to increase scoring numbers and favor offensive players.
NBA fans can expect some exciting results from this year’s upcoming NBA play-in tournament.
