He faces seven charges including aggravated rape, kidnapping, indecent assault with intent to rape and assault in a series of attacks that took place in 2007 and 2008.

He emerged from the courthouse shortly after 1 p.m. today after posting $500,000 of his $5 million bail and being fitted with a GPS ankle monitor per the terms of his release.

Neither Nilo nor Griffin responded to DailyMail.com’s repeated questions. He would not comment on his crimes, nor did he have words for his alleged victims.

When asked how she felt about the charges against the man she’d only recently become engaged to, Griffin looked straight ahead. She did not respond when asked how her family felt about her assisting him.

Two weeks ago, Griffin was holding rosaries as she appeared in New Jersey court to support Nilo when New Jersey’s attorney waived his extradition to Massachusetts, where the alleged rapes took place.

Today her blonde hair was combed back and tied at the nape of her neck. Despite the warm Boston sun, she wore black slacks and a black turtleneck, which she paired with a light gray leather-trimmed jacket.

Smartly dressed in navy pants and a white shirt, Nilo could almost have passed for the city attorney he was until his recent suspension.

The only hint of his true status as a bail suspect was the ankle monitor peeking out of the hem of his left trouser leg as he walked; the emotional sign of his growing frustration was the muscle working his clenched jaw.

Accompanied by his attorney, Joseph Cataldo, Nilo and Griffin seemed confused as to the location of the vehicle waiting to drive them away.

They walked quickly from the courthouse, across a crosswalk and to the Government Center train station, some 200 yards away, before turning around and heading back across the road to the courthouse parking lot.

Nilo’s first alleged victim, Lori Pinkham, was in court Monday, visibly shaking with anger after his attorney told the judge his family had raised the $500,000 needed to bail him out.

Pinkham spoke exclusively to DailyMail.com after the hearing and shared her ordeal publicly, for the first time since Nilo allegedly raped her at gunpoint in the Terminal Street area of Boston’s Charlestown neighborhood, where all of the alleged assaults took place.

Pinkham told DailyMail.com that she had never seen her attacker before and spoke of her displeasure that the man she described as a “flight risk” should be released on bail.

Pinkham, now 39, was only 23 at the time of her rape. She said: “He literally hid from the police for 16 years. Why isn’t he a flight risk?”

Pinkham admitted she had lost hope that her attacker would ever be caught and said she was “in disbelief and awe” when police arrived at her home and told her they had identified him.

She said, “He is a very bad person and he used guns and violence to violently kidnap and rape several women.”

Pinkham could not go into details of her own attack, she said, but is willing to testify against Nilo if prosecutors are called to do so.

Police arrested Nilo Tuesday, May 30, in an FBI sting in which he was lured from the luxury harborside apartment he shared with Griffin on the claim that a package had been delivered that was too large to fit in the posh facility’s lockers. to fit.

Law enforcement officials claim to have linked Nilo to the four attacks with DNA evidence identified through the genealogy database 23 and Me, to which family members voluntarily provided samples.

The Sexual Assault Kit Initiative — a federal program designed to help process a backlog of rape kits — was used in the investigation after Boston police reached out last October.

In April, according to FBI Special Agent Joseph R Bonavolonta, Nilo had been identified as a suspect.

According to the agent, Nilo’s alleged victims have ‘waited for years’ to find out the identity of their attacker.

At a press conference following Nilo’s arrest, Bonavolonta said, “We certainly realize that identifying this person doesn’t ease their pain — nothing can, but hopefully it answers some questions.”
