Look, I already know what you’re going to say – how could that possibly be me this excited by an air fryer?
Well, when it comes time for Ninja to roll out a new game-changer, I don’t think you can blame me. At Shark Ninja’s EMEA launch event I was introduced to some of the lifestyle giant’s latest and greatest products, but without a doubt the new Ninja Double Stack Air Fryer stands above even some of the best. best air fryers. If I had had enough room in my suitcase, I would absolutely have tried to put it away and take it home there and then. (AN: I am not prone to theft)
Quite literally, too, as this dual-zone air fryer stacks its two trays on top of each other, saving valuable countertop space while still delivering the same delicious results and high capacity as some of Ninja’s other dual-zone air fryers.
Go to Dual Zone or go home
Let’s pause for a moment to explain the benefit of dual-zone air fryers. With the exception of products like Ninja’s 10.4-quart Dual Zone Air Fryer and the Convertible MegaZone Basket, this form factor typically features two adjacent baskets, allowing you to cook several dishes at the same time.
These air fryers are naturally a lot wider than the standard, smaller air fryers that have become increasingly popular in recent years. While double tray air fryers are also becoming increasingly popular, they are becoming increasingly larger as air fryer technology reaches the limits of the capacity that mini cookers can heat up, while still promising faster cooking times.
So for people like me with smaller kitchens, the Ninja Double Stack air fryer is an absolute gamechanger, taking up much less real estate than its dual-zone competitors; and even some single-basket options. While the capacity of the smaller SL300 model is split between two baskets and can be a bit small for cooking larger cuts of meat and larger portions, the 9.5 liter SL400 Double Stack Air Fryer offers plenty of space.
What I was most impressed with was the addition of two additional oven racks, which gives you even more verticality. I cook A lot of side dishes and tapas dishes in my air fryer, and the option to keep these separated and provide even crispiness by preventing food from piling up will always yield better results.
The Ninja Double Stack Air Fryer offers much of the same features and functionality as the rest of Ninja’s air fryers, but it certainly looks different; and not just because of the height.
The machine’s controls are mounted on the side of the drawers, which looks a little strange, but you don’t have to worry about the machine taking up space above your head when in use. The machine is short enough for most standard cabinet heights and is relatively light if you want to keep the counters clear.
Otherwise, the Double Stack air fryer offers almost the same benefits as Ninja’s other mini cookers; ceramic non-stick coating, six different cooking modes (Air Fry, Max Crisp, Roast, Bake, Reheat and Dehydrate) and the ability to sync cooking times across the two trays.
The Ninja Double Stack Air Fryer isn’t available yet and we don’t have pricing information yet, but we’ll be sure to hit the news when it arrives, along with updates on all the many other products Shark Ninja announced this week. Considering how many people I speak to who say the only reason they don’t have an air fryer is because of space requirements, I wouldn’t be surprised if this is a sold out product, so keep an eye on Ny Breaking for the latest Shark Ninja news.
