Adam Rickitt has shown off a major hair transformation, leaving his wife Katy stunned.
The actor, 46, shot to fame with his boyish looks when he landed the role of Nick Tilsley in Coronation Street in 1997, where he was known for his blonde curtain haircut.
In recent months, Adam has taken on a very different look, with long bleach blonde locks, with fans jokingly comparing him to Jean-Claude Van Damme and Bonnie Tyler.
However, on Sunday Adam opted for another hair overhaul as he dramatically chopped off his ponytail while working at his bar in Cheshire.
And while his wife was seemingly worried about his sudden transformation, Adam’s fans loved the look, with some commenting that he looked ten years younger.
In a video shared to his Instagram over the weekend, Adam’s wife Katy filmed the pair and informed their followers that Adam had decided to cut his hair as the bar was quiet due to the storm.

She then laughed, “If anyone wants to give some money to charity now, now is the time.”
However, before his wife had a chance to process his intentions, the former soap star had already taken out the scissors and without thinking started cutting off his locks.
Katy exclaimed, “No no! what are you doing?’, after apparently thinking her husband was joking.
Adam giggled as he waved his now-severed ponytail in front of the camera, adding, “That part’s gone.”
His partner stared into the camera in shock as Adam showed off a shorter haircut, but she soon came over and told him, ‘Oh my God, it looks really nice!’ can you keep it’.
In a second video, Adam then showed off the full results of his hair change, which saw his hairdresser cut his hair shorter and apply platinum highlights.
Based on the comments, fans were quick to praise Adam’s new look, noting that he looked ten years younger.
They wrote: ‘Adam, you look 10 years younger’; ‘I love it…makes you look younger’

She also posted another sweet throwback of the couple sitting close together for a photo as she kissed her lover’s cheek.
And in three more photos that followed, the couple looked happier than ever.
Katy wrote a heartfelt message in the caption: ‘It may seem like we celebrate every milestone, but this is the one that means the most to us. 13 years ago I went to interview a man about a dog…well actually @adamrickitt about an RSPCA home for dogs!
‘A one-hour interview lasted a day, a first lunch date lasted after dinner and then we made a commitment to last a lifetime! We just found out it’s a third of my life… that doesn’t seem like enough. I can hardly remember anything beforehand.
‘I love this man with all my heart and soul. Happy ‘gotcha’ day xx.’
