Nine’s Shane Warne series Warnie recreates steamy sex romps with Liz Hurley during their romance
Shane Warne’s romance with Elizabeth Hurley is set to dominate the storyline of ‘Warnie’ – Channel Nine’s controversial new mini-series about the late cricketing legend.
Produced just months after the Spin King’s death in March 2022, Home and Away’s two-part drama stars Alex Williams as Shane and British actress Shanti Kali as Liz.
A new trailer for the drama promises fans an eyeful of hot bedroom action as the two actors reenact the former couple’s steamy sex scenes.
In a racy scene, Liz (played by Kali) can be seen straddling Shane (played by Williams) in an opulently decorated hotel room.
Other scenes in the trailer show the actors touching each other and kissing passionately.

Warne once described his passionate romance with the model and actress as “the happiest time of his life.”
He started dating Liz in 2010, five years after divorcing his first wife, Simone Callahan.
Shane proposed to the British bombshell in 2011, but the couple split in 2013 before reaching the altar.
In addition to his highly publicized love life, the series aims to reenact the highlights of Warne’s career.
But most of the new trailer is devoted to scenes from Warne’s time off the field, including his marriage to Simone, whom he cheated on.

Shane (played by Alex Williams) and Simone (played by actress Marny Kennedy) kiss in several scenes
In one scene, an anguished Shane tells Simone (played by actress Marny Kennedy), “There’s another girl.”
The trailer opens with scenes of Shane (Williams) making his way to a cricket ground surrounded by tens of thousands of adoring fans.
Other scenes show his unashamed love of the high life, including driving expensive sports cars and gambling.
Actor Williams is also seen wearing a wig to replicate Shane’s famous blonde mullet as he takes vital test wickets in India.
Based on the full trailer, Shane’s kids, Jackson, Brooke, and Summer don’t seem to feature prominently in the dramatization.

However, the trailer ends with his character cuddling and playing with his two of his kids on the family couch.
Other stars of the series include Wentworth’s Jacqueline Brennan, who plays Warne’s mother Brigitte, and Tom Stokes, who plays cricket great Steve Waugh.
Shane died of a suspected heart attack just over a year ago in March 2022 while on holiday in Thailand.
Just six months after his death, the network confirmed it was producing a two-part miniseries about his life, but it was reported that production on the series did not begin until three weeks after his death.
Shane’s eldest daughter Brooke, 24, previously called Nine’s series based on her father “beyond disrespectful” as he was a commentator for the network’s cricket coverage for 23 years.
“Do any of you have any respect for Dad? Or his family?’ she wrote on Instagram.

‘He’s done so much for Channel Nine and now you want to dramatize his life and that of our family six months after he passed away? You are beyond disrespectful.’
According to Nine, 9Network and Screentime met with Shane’s family during pre-production and they have since changed their tone and are now supporting the series.
“The 9Network looks forward to working with the family as filming continues,” Nine said in a statement.
Nine has yet to announce an air date for Warnie.
