Neighbor Hank Moses told the outlet, “We all grew up here, we know everyone just like family. It was hard to watch.”

Moses said fallen trees kept first responders from getting to the family as he and his father helped them to the house.

He continued: “It’s sad, these trees could be moved and replaced. It’s just sad that a life was lost. It is heavy.’

Authorities also said a woman died in Cecilia, also in Louisiana, after a camper capsized due to high winds Monday evening.

Storms hit several southern states, hitting areas previously affected during one of the most active periods for tornadoes on record.

From April 25 through May 10, at least 267 tornadoes were confirmed by the National Weather Service.

On Monday, more than 15 million people, from Texas to Florida, were threatened by severe storms and tornadoes.

The greatest risk for severe storms and tornadoes was in a zone stretching from Southeast Texas through much of Louisiana and the Gulf Coast regions of Mississippi and Alabama, and into the Florida Panhandle.

A GoFundMe has since been created for the Browning family following Kristin’s death.

It reads: “During the severe storms that rolled through our area last night, a tree fell on the Browning (Kent) family trailer, killing Kristen.

“If any of you know this family, they are always willing to help anyone in need. They need our help now. Anything you can donate would be greatly appreciated.”

As of Wednesday, the GoFundMe has surpassed its original $3,000 goal and raised more than $19,000.
