Former Republican presidential candidate Nikki Haley welcomed her husband Michael home on Saturday after a months-long deployment abroad.
“That moment when you finally catch your breath… It’s been a long year, but even longer without each other,” she wrote on social media. “Grateful for Michael’s safe return and the end of a year of prayer.”
Major Michael Haley serves in the National Guard and appeared with Haley in March 2023 when she announced her campaign for president.

He was later deployed to Africa in June as she continued the failed presidential campaign against former President Donald Trump.
Haley mentioned her husband in a campaign ad in December, saying she would continue to show “American strength” abroad to prevent service members like her husband from having to go to war.
In January, DailyMail.com exclusively revealed new details about affairs she allegedly had with her communications adviser and a South Carolina lobbyist.
Will Folks, 49, and Larry Marchant, 61, signed affidavits in 2010 alleging they had a sexual relationship with Haley while she was in the South Carolina House of Representatives.
Some details of Haley’s alleged affairs emerged during her campaign for governor in 2010. At the time, she denied the stories and reassured voters that she was “100% loyal” to her husband.

In January, Haley and her campaign declined comment in response to the Daily Mail story and eventually banned reporters and photographers from her campaign events after the article was published.
Trump alluded to the messages during the final months of the campaign.
‘Where is her husband? Oh, he’s gone… What happened to her husband? Where is he? He’s gone,” Trump told supporters at a rally in February.
‘He knew. He knew it,” Trump added, without specifically referring to the reported cases.
Haley responded by accusing Trump of mocking her husband’s military service.
“Donald, if you have something to say, don’t say it behind my back; get on the debate stage and say it to my face,” she said.
Haley ended her campaign in March after Trump defeated her on Super Tuesday in every state except Vermont.
