Nikki Glaser’s controversial jokes cut from Golden Globes included jibes about Luigi Mangione and ‘baby Hitler’
Nikki Glaser revealed the wildest and most controversial jokes she removed from her opening monologue at the 2025 Golden Globes on Sunday night.
Reflecting on drawing the line between comedy and mocking while poking fun at Hollywood’s biggest stars, the comedian, 40, shared a list of harsh jokes that didn’t make the cut during an interview with Howard Stern.
Among the jokes she ultimately left off the stage at the Beverly Hilton were shots at A-listers ranging from Ben Affleck to Alec Baldwin.
Additionally, she refrained from making a Diddy joke, which she feared the audience would “turn on” her, and a reference to Hitler that didn’t make it to her “Gen Z assistant.”
While appearing on SiriusXM’s The Howard Stern Show on Jan. 6, Glaser read off a list of jokes she didn’t want to share during the main broadcast.

“The Golden Globes is the only show where you can see the biggest stars, movies and television coming together with the same goal: to get out tonight before Dax Shepard asked them to do his podcast,” she began. “This is the last time you’ll all be in the same room together until the Diddy trial.”
As for why she ultimately didn’t make that particular joke, Glaser explained that she feared the people in the room would feel like she was “accusing” them of “involvement” in his legal issues and bringing shame to the association.
Still, she threw in another eyebrow-raising Diddy joke involving Zendaya.
“Zendaya is here. Zendaya, you were great in Dune. Oh, my God, I woke up to all your scenes. You were so good. And challengers, girl? It was so good. I mean, that movie was more sexually charged than Diddy’s credit card,” she joked. ‘Oh, I’m angry too. The afterparty isn’t going to be good this year. But we have to move on. A Stanley Tucci freak-off just doesn’t have the same ring. No baby oil this year, but lots of olive oil.’
Another that didn’t make the cut alluded to Luigi Mangioni, who has been charged with murder in the killing of UnitedHealthcare CEO Brian Thompson.
Glaser planned to make the following joke: “Glen Powell is nominated for Hit Man tonight. Who would have thought that by the end of the year you would only be the second most popular assassin in America.”
The artist also hesitated to make pedophile jokes from the Catholic Church.
“We’ve heard them all, that’s all we need,” she said of the next joke.

Before she decided not to go that route, she said she almost said this joke: “I loved Conclave. It’s about electing a new pope. It was heartwarming. It will affect you so much that the church will have to move it to another theater. Tip: you don’t need an ID to enter the Conclave afterparty.’
Glaser also stopped herself from making a joke, calling Adrien Brody a “two-time Holocaust survivor” because she starred in two Holocaust films (The Pianist and The Brutalist) that would “thank baby Hitler for his career’.
Another joke that went unsaid was, “Only Murders in the Building is great. I think it’s so cool that legends like Steve Martin, Martin Short and Meryl Streep are still at it. It just goes to show you that you are never too old to need money. Why are you still working too hard? What’s going on, did you get involved in the Hawk Tuah crypto scheme?’
Perhaps one of the most hilarious was a swipe at Ben Affleck’s divorce from Jennifer Lopez.
Although she made another joke at Affleck’s expense, she did delete it: “Here’s Ben Affleck. I can’t wait to see which Jennifer tries to ruin you next.”

Another joke she didn’t say was: ‘The Wild Robot has been nominated tonight. And by that I mean Nicole Kidman after two white wines’
She also hesitated to make fun of Amy Adams, but ultimately decided against it.
Glaser revealed that she wanted to say, “Amy Adams was nominated for her performance in Night Bitch, while I was totally snubbed for my performance in Day Slut. The documentary category is difficult, but Night Bitch is what Diddy hears every night before the lights go out.’

Glaser also cut one about Alec Baldwin and the Rust incident, leaving Hannah Gutierrez-Reed, who she said was “too mean.”
The comedian said she almost said, “Michael Keaton was so great in Beetlejuice, Beetlejuice and Alec Baldwin unfortunately didn’t come back to play a ghost because he was too busy making it.”
The last thing said was: ‘To sound like Bob Dylan, Timothée Chalamet took years of singing lessons, because apparently that’s how long it takes to learn to smoke 40,000 cigarettes. Timothée took guitar lessons, dialect movements and singing to become Bob Dylan, while Bob Dylan became Bob Dylan the old-fashioned way: heroin and autism. Not diagnosed, but come on, lots of songs about trains.”
