Nikki Bella reveals she’s been ‘exhausted for three years’ since giving birth to son Matteo who has ‘speech delay’: ‘It really shook me up’
Nikki Bella has been ‘exhausted for three years’ since the birth of her son, who has a ‘speech delay’.
The 39-year-old former professional wrestler has spoken of how her life has been ‘turned upside down’ since her two-year-old boy Matteo – who she has with husband Artem Chigvintsev, 41 – became a toddler as there is ‘always something’ to deal with .
She said E! News: ‘The toddler stage, I’m not going to lie, turned me upside down. I feel like I’ve been exhausted for almost three years, and I’m like, “Brie, when am I going to get my life back?”
“You go from teething to just getting him into preschool and dealing with illness, and there’s always something there.
“And Matteo also had a speech delay, so even dealing with that and doing therapy — so the toddler phase definitely rocked me.”

However, Nikki wishes she could “freeze” Matteo’s current age.
She added: “I will say I wish I could freeze this age because I see he has his own personality but also he’s all about Mom – and Dad too, but really a lot about Mom – I just want to freeze it, and I want to keep it that way forever.
‘[He] has his father’s sweet soul – I have a sweet boy.’
Matteo will be three at the end of the month and he was just two when his parents tied the knot last August.
But Nikki revealed in February that Matteo vomited during her wedding.
She told the publication, “He threw up. The Nutcracker is playing and we’re looking down the aisle and I’m like, “Where is he?” And I just feel his hand like that, and my brother said, “Here’s the rings. Matteo’s throwing up. Just, you know, go ahead and get married.” I think I’ve gone white!
“We both don’t even remember the ring part because we kept looking at each other like, ‘Are we terrible parents, like putting our rings on and we were just told our son is throwing up in the back?’
“He ended up throwing up and went back to the hotel, and it worked out in the end. But I’m sorry we don’t have that moment, but it’s okay. We need to see him sooner.’

Nikki was previously engaged to John Cena but they split in 2018 after six years of romance.
She started dating her Dancing With The Stars pro partner Artem in January 2019 and announced their engagement the following year in January 2020.
Weeks later, the two announced they were expecting their first child together before welcoming Matteo in late July 2020, with Nikki revealing that the reason was the postponement of marriage.
They finally got married on August 26, 2022.
