He was the big star on the renewed season of My Kitchen Rules last season.

But despite her popularity on Channel Seven’s cooking competition, Nigella Lawson is apparently leaving the show.

According to the herald sunthe famous TV cook and author will not return to the reality series this year.

Neither Seven nor Nigella have made any official announcement yet.

It comes after the glamorous Lawson featured heavily in the lead up to the MKR reboot last August.

She replaced controversial judge Pete Evans in the first part of the series and fans called her appointment a “massive improvement”.

The British food writer joined Manu Feildel as a judge for the first time during the premiere of MKR on August 7 and was incredibly well received by viewers.

However, Lawson had left the series on 16 August, after judging group one, stepping aside for Matt Preston to co-host alongside Manu for the remainder of the season.

Later, Gary Mehigan and Colin Fassnidge were added to the cast as guest judges.

Nigella previously spoke about her excitement about starring in the series.

“When you think of the food you love, it’s almost always home cooking,” she said last year.

‘Nigella is like that little sister you love, but she’s a bit annoying sometimes, she likes to pop a bit with you. That’s why I love working with her,” revealed Matt, 60. She is naughty.

MKR had once been a ratings giant Seven, but its popularity took a nosedive in recent years as viewers flocked to Channel Nine’s Married At First Sight.

The 2022 MKR Grand Finale was a ratings success despite less than impressive viewership figures across all 15 episodes of the season.

Janelle and Monzir won the grand finale for a $100,000 prize.

The final 15 nail-biting minutes until the announcement of his victory drew an average metropolitan audience of 643,000, while the preceding 67 minutes drew 528,000 viewers nationwide.

Casting is currently open for the 2023 season of My Kitchen Rules.
