She is as renowned for her flawless, porcelain complexion as for the culinary masterpieces she conjures up in the kitchen.
And now Nigella Lawson has revealed the secret to her wrinkle-free skin at the age of 64: sleeping in a cold room, with no central heating.
The domestic goddess has an “unchangeable nighttime regimen,” which consists of a cleansing and skin care routine followed by a very cold night’s sleep.
When one of her followers on X asked her about the secret to her timeless look, she revealed that she washes her face every night with a muslin cloth and Temple Spa’s In the Beginning cleanser.
She says she then massages herself with Prickly Pear Seed Oil from skincare brand Victora Health, adding: ‘And no central heating in the bedroom!’

While it may be tempting to turn on the central heating at night during the colder months, dermatologists warn that this can lead to extremely dry skin.
Leading skin care experts have said that one of the biggest causes of dry and flaky skin during the winter months is contact with air, both indoors and outdoors, that lacks moisture.
“Central heating adds extra stress to dealing with dry skin, which is especially problematic if you have an existing skin condition like psoriasis or eczema,” Dr. Adam Friedmann told Glamour magazine.
According to dermatologist Dr. Derrick Phillips, “using central heating during the winter months reduces indoor humidity by making the air drier as temperatures rise.”
He added: ‘This has a drying effect on the skin, as it promotes moisture loss from the skin’s surface. This leads to irritation and the development of conditions such as eczema, where the skin barrier is compromised.’
The use of humidifiers has become increasingly popular as they add moisture to the air during the winter months and reduce skin and respiratory problems.
Stars like Celine Dion, Mariah Carey, and Kendall Jenner all use a humidifier at night as part of their beauty and health routines.
Mrs Lawson, who divorced her second husband Charles Saatchi in 2013, recently criticised the use of the controversial slimming drug Ozempic.

She said she has spent her life trying to “help people not feel like food is the enemy” and that she is someone who “would rather think about what I add to my diet than what I take away.”
She told The Times: ‘I once read something where someone said, ‘I took Ozempic and it was the first time I didn’t think about food all the time.’
“I thought, ‘I can’t imagine anything worse than that. I love thinking about food all the time.’
