Nicole Scherzinger is dripping in fake blood while signing autographs for fans at her Broadway debut of Sunset Boulevard during opening night

Nicole Scherzinger signed autographs while covered in fake blood after making her Broadway debut in the highly anticipated revival of Sunset Boulevard on Sunday.

The former Pussycat Doll singer, 46, appeared in good spirits as she greeted fans outside the St. James Theater while still dressed as her character Norma Desmond.

Nicole, still dripping with fake blood and wearing her long black dress, signed fan programs as they waited outside the stage door.

She took to the stage in New York City as the lead role of faded actress Norma Desmond in the classic Andrew Lloyd Webber musical, having previously played the character in London’s West End.

In another photo, the Masked Singer judge looked excited as she celebrated her debut with a glass of champagne.

The actress received five standing ovations for her incredible performance at the opening night of Sunset Blvd.

Ahead of the show, Nicole took to Instagram to share a photo of herself with Andrew Lloyd Webber and Jamie Lloyd as they rehearsed for opening night.

She wrote, “Tonight I’m making my Broadway debut. I can hardly believe it. Little Nicole has been waiting for this all her life. And I get to do it with this beautiful cast @sunsetblvdmusical and these two heroes of mine @andrewloydwebber @jamielloyd’.

Nicole initially played the role of Norma when the film opened in London last year, with West End legend Rachel Tucker acting as her deputy.

She and co-star Tom Francis both won an Olivier for their efforts, and Tom has joined the Don’t Cha singer on Broadway.

Nicole and Tom are also joined in the show by fellow London co-stars Grace Hodgett-Young and David Thaxton as they all made their Broadway debuts.

Nicole recently admitted that despite her success in theater, she initially felt “thrown away” by the industry after her pop career.

She told me People: ‘I am [46] years old. I have never been stronger – physically, mentally, emotionally. I’m in my prime. There is no better time for me to create work that is meaningful in this world.

“That’s the tragedy: that you’re in the best place in your life. You’re so full, you have so much to give, and people have thrown you away, sent you away and said, ‘Your time is up…’

Nicole then emphasized that it has been her “lifelong dream” to make it to The Great White Way, which comes after appearances on shows like Cats and Rent since her pop heyday.

Nicole’s success in the London run of Sunset Boulevard did not go entirely smoothly, as she stumbled on her way to the stage during the awards ceremony.

After kissing her fiancé Thom Evans, Nicole gingerly made her way to the Royal Albert Hall stage in her daring dress.

Host Hannah Waddingham helped her up the stairs, but when she reached the top, the actress stumbled, with actor David Oyelowo reaching out to help her.

In her acceptance speech, she said: “First of all, I would like to thank God for saving me from that journey. But seriously, without him I am nothing.”
