Nicole Kidman’s ‘nepo baby’ niece Lucia Hawley says she’s suffering from ‘imposter syndrome’

Lucia Hawley, Nicole Kidman’s niece, has revealed she’s suffering from “con artist syndrome” after scoring a new gig as a red carpet reporter for the E! network.

The journalist, 25, tells Media week that the job is a “dream” for her, but she sometimes doubts herself.

“I would say my confidence has really been tested in this role, especially in this industry, and it’s been really good for my mental health,” she said.

“I think the impostor syndrome is really big and very common, especially when you get a role like this because I’ve been looking for it for so long, and then when you finally get it, you’re like, ‘What, me?’ ‘

Lucia said it’s “quite surreal” to get the new job, but she always had her “eyes on broadcasting.”

“It was a dream because I’ve seen all the coverage since I was a kid, and then I could say, ‘Wow, this is my job now,'” she said.

Lucia, the daughter of Nicole’s sister Antonia Kidman, recently spoke out about nepotism and admitted she comes from a “privileged life and background.”

She said her family ties have made her more determined to prove herself in the industry.

She said women’s Day“I would never deny my privilege and actually I raise my hand completely and say, ‘yes I am privileged, I come from a really privileged family and I am so thankful for the opportunities that have come my way for that'” .

“All I can do is work hard and make an individual name for myself and prove myself.”

While discussing her “fake baby” title, she added, “If that’s the worst thing that’s been said about me, then so be it.”

The term “nepo baby,” short for “nepotism baby,” stems from a recent article published by New York magazine calling out American celebrities who used their famous parents and relatives to build their careers.

Among the names mentioned were Jaden Smith, the son of actors Will and Jada Pinkett Smith; Zoë Kravitz, the daughter of rock star Lenny Kravitz and actress Lisa Bonet; and Maya Hawke, whose parents are actors Uma Thurman and Ethan Hawke.

While the phenomenon is nothing new, the term “fake baby” has become an increasingly popular term to describe it.

Last month, Lucia signed with major talent management agency Chic Talent after landing the coveted red carpet reporter gig for the E! network.

“Incredibly excited to announce the signing of [Lucia]to our schedule,” they announced via their Instagram page.

The signing came days after Lucia explained why she shouldn’t be called a “fake baby” despite her enviable showbiz connections.

As the new face of Live From E!, the aspiring journalist will be attending Australia’s biggest events, interviewing celebrities and covering the hottest fashion moments.

While some have accused Lucia of using her “fake baby” connections to further her media career, she insists she worked hard to land her “dream job.”

“I’ve been working towards this,” she recently told The Sunday Telegraph.

In her interview, Lucia did admit that her mother’s work as a TV presenter was beneficial to her career, but only because it taught her “perspective” rather than opening doors.
