Keith Urban gushes over wife Nicole Kidman’s generosity after she bid $150,000 on Hugh Jackman’s hat at charity auction – while staying silent about Balenciaga scandal

Keith Urban has spoken about his wife Nicole Kidman’s incredible generosity after she bought Hugh Jackman’s autographed hat for $150,000 ($100,000) for charity.

Nicole surprised audiences on Saturday when she attended Hugh’s Broadway show The Music Man in New York City for charity.

The 55-year-old Hollywood actress bid on an autographed hat Hugh wears on the show, with all proceeds from the auction going to AIDS research.

Keith told Novas Fitzy and Wippa that Nicole “stepped on the plate” when she made the decision to donate the eye-watering sum to charity.

The country singer added that his actress wife had “no idea” she would care so much and that he was “so proud” of her kind-hearted nature.

“She’s known Hugh for a long time and it’s a good cause. Good on her,’ he said.

Keith added that they had collected some unique items through charity auctions, including a plastic horse autographed by Australian singer Daryl Braithwaite.

Nicole has been close friends with Hugh since she starred alongside him in Baz Luhrmann’s 2008 epic film Australia.

It comes after Nicole was criticized for refusing to denounce Balenciaga, despite a controversy linking the company to a shoot that placed children next to BDSM-themed items.

The Moulin Rouge actress stars in the fashion brand’s spring 2023 campaign, which was unveiled last week just as the scandal erupted.

Fans have since flooded the comment section of Nicole’s Instagram page with calls for her to denounce the brand or issue a statement — which have so far gone unanswered as Kidman has kept the scandal quiet.

Underneath the post, which was simply tagged for Balenciaga’s creative team, fans wrote “shame on you” and “I’d drop that campaign like a hot potato.”

Nicole, who shares daughters Sunday, 13, and Faith, 10, with Keith and two adopted children with ex Tom Cruise, was also asked how she would feel if her children had been in the campaign.
