The heartbreaking reason Nicole Kidman is determined to reconcile with the two children she shares with ex-husband Tom Cruise
The heartbreaking reason why Nicole Kidman is determined to reconcile with her two older children following the shock death of her mother Janelle in September has been revealed.
The Oscar-winning star, 57, is reportedly devastated that her late mother never got the chance to reconnect with the two adopted children she shares with ex-husband Tom Cruise.
‘Because of the loss of her mother, Nicole no longer wants to waste time. It hurt Janelle that she and husband Antony were estranged [Isabella and Connor]’, a family friend said New idea magazine.
Kidman and Cruise adopted Isabella, 31, and Connor, 29, in the early 1990s, but after their divorce in 2001, the two children sided with their father and have not been seen publicly with their mother since 2007.
‘They were their first two grandchildren and they were once very close. “It was a deep regret that they couldn’t see her in person before she died,” the source added.
They said the regret “fueled her need for a proper reconciliation.”

Kidman has four children: Bella and Connor with Cruise, and daughters Sunday, 16, and Faith, 13, with her current husband Keith Urban.
Her beloved mother Janelle died in September, just hours before Nicole was named Best Actress for her role in Babygirl on the final day of the Venice Film Festival.
“Today I arrived in Venice only to find out shortly afterwards that my beautiful, brave mother has just passed away,” Nicole revealed in a statement read by director Halina Reijn after her win.
‘I am in shock and I have to go to my family, but this award is for her, she shaped me, guided me and made me.
“I am beyond grateful to be able to say her name to all of you through Halina, the collision of life and art is heartbreaking, and my heart is broken. We love you all.”
A week later, Nicole broke her silence and made a heartbreaking Instagram statement alongside some never-before-seen photos of the matriarch.
In her post, the Perfect Couple star thanked her millions of fans and supporters for expressing their condolences during their time of mourning.
“My sister and I, along with our family, would like to thank you for the outpouring of love and kindness we have felt this week,” Nicole wrote in the joint statement.

“Every message we have received from those who loved and admired our Mother has meant more to us than we can ever express. Thank you from our entire family for respecting our privacy.”
Nicole has long had an incredibly close relationship with her beloved mother Janelle and often spoke about her support and influence on her career over the years.
She was born in Hawaii and raised in Sydney by Janelle and her psychologist father Antony, who died in September 2014.
After spending time in the United States, the Moulin Rouge star and her younger sister Antonia spent much of their childhood in Sydney.
Nicole pursued her passion for acting when she was a teenager and was supported by both her parents as she achieved worldwide fame.
They both remained heavily involved in her career over the years, with Nicole often admitting that she would go to her mother for advice.
Nicole had an equally close relationship with her father Antony and was left devastated when he died of a heart attack in September 2014 aged 75.
The Oscar-winning actress previously revealed that her father’s ‘sudden’ death, as well as a series of other losses, had affected her deeply.
