Nicole Kidman joins Maya Erskine in the sinister thriller The Perfect Nanny for HBO
Nicole Kidman and Maya Erskine team up for the new thriller The Perfect Nanny.
Maya, 35, who is the creator and writer of the limited series, also plays a seemingly perfect caretaker with two young children in her care, until her personality deteriorates into something sinister.
Deadline reported that the suspenseful series, which will be shown on HBO, is based on the book of the same name.

The project has a grim connection to reality, as it was inspired by the fatal murder of two children by their nanny in 2012.
Leila Slimani’s book has won rave reviews around the world, including the Prix Goncourt in France.
The New York Times included it in the list of the best books of the year of 2018. The volume, titled Lullaby in the UK, was named Debut of the year at the British Book Awards 2019.
Bestseller: The series is based on the bestseller The Perfect Babysitter by Leila Slimani. Both Nicole and Maya will executive produce the limited series.
The provocative writing of The Perfect Nanny has been praised for its exploration of race and class divisions against the backdrop of gruesome tragedy.
Nicole, 55, will not only star in the series, but will also executive produce through her company Blossom Films.
The Oscar winner has a slate of TV projects premiering in the near future, including the Amazon Prime series Expats, about a group of expats living in Hong Kong, and the spy series Lioness, with Zoe Saldana, for Paramount+.

The Australian beauty is working as an executive producer on both projects, as well as Aquaman and the Lost Kingdom, which opens on Christmas Day.
Maya has been causing a stir in the Amazon Prime series Mr. and Mrs. Smith, opposite Donald Glover, about a pair of married spies.
She replaced co-creator Phoebe Waller-Bridge, who left the production due to creative differences.
