In an interview with Zendaya for Variety Actors on Actors even tells the Oscar winner that she has ‘bruises’ all over her body due to the intensity of the scenes.

Kidman, 57, previously revealed how she had to pause filming the drama because she no longer wanted to have orgasms.

“It’s really taxing to go through all those emotions,” she said, suggesting that your body doesn’t know it’s just re-enacting the drama.

“So you’re causing yourself the trauma. On Babygirl, there were parts that now don’t appear in the film we shot that gave me – it was exhausting, but it was also just emotionally disturbing.

She added, “Same thing when I did Big Little Lies. That was disturbing for my body and my psyche, because I couldn’t tell what was real and what wasn’t. I had real bruises all over my back and body.”

In the film, Kidman plays a powerful, married corporate boss who falls in love with a kinky young intern, played by 28-year-old Harris Dickinson.

About the intense scene in both the movie and the HBO show Big Little Lies, Kidman said, “My brain said, ‘Wait a minute.’ You’re hurt.’ So I’ve done things where they clean my chakras and pray and get the sage out.

‘Honestly, I take everything with me so that I can step freely to the next place, without scars, damage or injuries.

‘That sounds like I’m completely crazy, but I’m not. Even just a massage, where you suddenly get a beautiful touch.

“That’s healing, and we need to heal. I’m still learning not to sacrifice my body for the sake of art, because part of me wants to. Because I have to appreciate who I am, it’s a journey. But you seem very stable.”

However, it seems that despite the steamy content, Tom Cruise’s ex-wife has had no reservations whatsoever about the film.

“As soon as I heard it was called Babygirl, I was like, ‘Yes.’ I want to be the baby girl.”

“And a big part of that is the chemistry. [Director Halina Reijn] was like, ‘What about Harris Dickinson?'”

Babygirl opens in cinemas on Christmas Day in the US and on January 10 in the UK.

The film follows powerful CEO Romy (Kidman) who jeopardizes her career and life’s work when she begins an intense affair with her young intern Samuel (Dickinson).

Director Halina Reijn was inspired by the sexual thriller Basic Instinct by Sharon Stone and Michael Douglas and by hearing from a woman who had never experienced sexual pleasure during her 25-year marriage.

Nicole said she was attracted to the project because it was “an area.” [she’d] never been in her career.

She explained: ‘I’ve always been searching as an actor, I’m always going, where haven’t I been? And what can I discover as a person? And this was an area I had never been to before.”
