Nicola Peltz is consoled by husband Brooklyn Beckham as she shares emotional post after ‘filing lawsuit against groomer who she blames for the death of her beloved dog Nala’

Nicola Peltz expressed her grief over the death of her dog Nala on Instagram on Wednesday, and has reportedly taken legal action against a groomer who treated her Chihuahua before she died.

“I am still in shock and pain as my baby Nala passed away suddenly last month after what should have been a routine nursing session,” Peltz, 29, said in a post.

The emotional post included a photo of Peltz and her 25-year-old husband Brooklyn Beckham burying their beloved pet, embracing in front of a grave lined with flowers.

‘I posted the experience on my Instagram to raise awareness, and I was heartbroken to hear the horrific stories of so many others who have suffered the same tragedy. I can’t bear it. I’m outraged to hear how common stories like Nala’s are.’

Peltz added: “We need to do better and change the laws to better protect fur babies and the loving owners who care for them. Our pets are our chosen family.”

Peltz added: “I have dedicated most of my life to saving dogs and I cannot in good conscience allow this horrific act to happen to any more families.”

She concluded by saying, “I will work to change and pass laws to ensure no one else ever has to experience this heartache. I will always use my voice to protect our innocent babies. Love, always, Nicola.”

The actress is said to have filed a lawsuit against HoundSpa, which claims it is responsible for the death of her Chihuahua Nala.

According to TMZTThe lawsuit accuses dog groomer Jony Ceballos of “willful and malicious abuse of dogs.”

Peltz alleges that Nala was injured and in serious physical distress after receiving routine care in HoundSpa’s mobile van.

Peltz is also said to have taken legal action against HoundSpa owner Deborah “Deb” Gittleman for keeping Ceballos on staff despite reportedly having past complaints about his behavior toward animals.

Nicola says she is emotionally devastated by the whole ordeal, especially as she witnessed Nala’s death after taking her to the vet after care.

The publication also reports that Nicola’s other dog, Angel, screams and shakes in fear when left alone after another grooming session.

Nicola, who first confirmed Nala’s death in June, has taken legal action after learning that other pet owners have had similar experiences with dog groomers.

Nicola said in a statement to MailOnline: ‘I am still in shock and pain as my baby Nala passed away suddenly last month after what should have been a routine nursing session.

‘I posted the experience on my Instagram to raise awareness, and I was devastated to hear the horrific stories of so many others who have suffered the same tragedy. I can’t bear it. I’m infuriated to hear how often stories like Nala’s are happening.

MailOnline has contacted HoundSpa for comment.

According to TMZ’s sources, veterinary records indicated the dog had fluid in her lungs, neurological issues, and a racing heart before she died. The exact cause of these issues is still unknown.

According to the outlet, Nicola and her husband Brooklyn Beckham had previously used the grooming service without any issues.

Nicola said she is emotionally devastated by the ordeal, especially as she witnessed Nala's death after taking her to the vet after being cared for.

According to sources at TMZ, the actress’ legal action is not motivated by money, but by a desire to prevent a similar tragedy from happening again.

Nicola, an animal rights advocate, is seeking answers about Nala’s time with the groomer. However, there were no cameras in the grooming van, sources say, raising questions about what went on inside.

Nicola previously stated on Instagram that Nala was ‘perfectly healthy’ before her grooming treatment.

She wrote: ‘This has been the hardest month of my life. I can’t even find the words to describe my heartbreak on so many levels.

‘Nala was perfectly healthy when she went to the groomer yesterday, but when she came out she was hyperventilating and couldn’t breathe.

‘We took her to the vet and a few hours later she passed away. I am sharing this in the hopes that this may happen to other dogs.

‘Her life was taken far too soon. She was my beautiful queen and stayed by my side through it all for 9 years.

“Please be careful who you send your dogs to because you don’t know what happens behind closed doors. 1 day without Nala on earth feels like an eternity. I wish I could have her in my arms again. I pray she is with my Naunni. I hope I see them again soon.”

Brooklyn announced the loss on social media on June 15 and paid tribute to their beloved pet.

“Dearest Nala, we miss you so much, you left us far too soon and we hope others don’t have to experience loss after something as simple as a grooming session,” he wrote alongside a photo of himself holding Nala.

“You were the cutest little girl and we will always think of you. We know you are watching us and barking at us. We love you so much and miss you so much.”
