Nicola Peltz has paid tribute to Victoria Beckham after missing her 50th birthday dinner in Mayfair on Saturday evening.

The fashion designer celebrated the milestone with an assortment of famous friends and family members at the exclusive members-only club Oswalds.

Hollywood legend Tom Cruise, Jason Statham and all four of Victoria’s former Spice Girls bandmates were in attendance, but Nicola, 29, was forced to miss the event after her grandmother fell ill.

Paying tribute to her mother-in-law, affectionately known as ‘mil’, she wrote: ‘Happy birthday to my beautiful mil @victoriabeckham.

“I’m so sad I can’t be there to celebrate and hug you! Sending all my love from me and my naunni! I miss you all so much!’

Rumors of a falling out between Nicola and her mother-in-law emerged after the actress’ multimillion-dollar wedding in April 2022.

Whispers arose when it was claimed that Nicola refused to wear one of Victoria’s namesake designs, opting instead for various designs from Valentino, Christian Dior and Versace.

While wedding plans were in full swing, insiders claimed Victoria was unhappy with Nicola’s unwillingness to include her in the plans for the lavish affair.

It was claimed the Beckhams took a backseat on the big day – leading to further anger from Victoria, with a source telling Daily Mail: ‘The top table was all Peltzs and it really felt like the Beckhams weren’t in the foreground stood…

“There was a sense that the wedding was all about the Peltz family, as you can imagine, since it was their home and their daughter and their son were giving the speeches.”

Nicola later confirmed that the rumors started after she didn’t wear Victoria’s design. Although she denied there was a ‘feud’, she explained that Victoria’s studio had simply not had time to create the dress, as she insisted: ‘No family is perfect.’

Nicola said: ‘It’s not a feud! I see that word ‘feud, feud, feud!?’ I mean, maybe they noticed something? And now they’re calling it a feud?’

“I think what started it all, and I’ve said this before, was because I didn’t end up wearing Victoria’s wedding dress, but the real truth is that I really wanted to wear it and I thought Brooklyn’s wedding dress was so beautiful . Mom should make that for me!…

‘And I really enjoyed wearing it! And I ended up not wearing it. But honestly, I was really excited to wear her dress. It makes me sad when I read things that people say I never intended to wear. That’s just not true.’
