Nicola Coughlan cosies up to actor Jake Dunn as they attend All Points East festival

Nicola Coughlan snuggled up to actor Jake Dunn as she attended the All Points East festival in London’s Victoria Park over the weekend.

The 37-year-old actress, known for her role as Penelope Featherington in the Netflix hit Bridgerton, was joined by Renegade Nell star Jake, 24.

Nicola blended into the crowd, shielding her face with a black bucket hat as she watched Mitski headline the set.

In photos obtained by The SunShe wore a white mini dress and completed her festival look with a pair of studded ankle boots.

Jake opted for an open shirt, worn over a white cardigan, with black linen pants and New Balance trainers.

His most recent role was as Thomas Blancheford in the Disney+ series Renegade Nell and he also starred in The Bastard Son & The Devil Himself.

Nicola was spotted with Jake and his co-star Alice Kremelberg at the premiere of Renegade Nell in March, where they posed for a selfie.

The Irish actress had come to the event to support her Derry Girls co-star Louisa Harland, who plays the title role.

In a clamp on Netflix’s social media, the couple traveled to Nicola’s hometown in Ireland to see the sights, before reminiscing about their time on the show.

In the clip, Nicola, who played Lady Whistledown scribe Penelope Featherington, and Luke, who played Colin Bridgerton, look back on their three seasons on the series.

Nicola was forced to hold back tears as she said goodbye to her season as the show’s lead character, with a new romance with Bridgerton taking centre stage in season four.

The clip opens with Nicola showing Luke the beautiful Galway countryside. The actor says: ‘The people have been really welcoming. I don’t know what I expected to be honest.’

The duo went to the cinema to rewatch scenes from the series, including the first season where viewers saw the first phase of Penelope and Colin’s friendship.

Looking at her characters’ flashy style, Nicola said: “We look like babies. I loved that dress, it was so cute.”

After enjoying moments like the show’s first ball and the final moments of season one, where Penelope came dangerously close to admitting her feelings for Colin.

In Bridgerton’s third season, which has been called the show’s spiciest yet, we see Colin and Penelope finally seal their romance, while Luke and Nicola look back on their characters’ first kiss.

When asked about the message fans should take away from their relationship, Luke said, “The message is that you have to find who you are, but you don’t have to do it alone, someone can help you.”

Nicola added: ‘It changes your life, it affects our lives forever, when we’re old and grey.’

Luke and Nicola then headed to a pub where they shared a pint of Guinness. The Derry Girls star revealed that she landed her role as Penelope after just one audition.

She added: ‘Every screening we’ve seen around the world has been a real pinch-me moment for us.’

Trying to hold back her tears, she told Luke, “You’re so good at this, I wouldn’t want to do it with anyone else… and I’m SO tired.”

The duo toured the world to promote Bridgerton’s third season, which focused on the romance between Colin and Penelope.

Fans were quick to express their joy at the unexpected reunion, with one admitting they were “in tears.”

Messages included: ‘You guys just keep stabbing me in the heart. Ughh, the waterworks started with the first dance scene. And that first kiss song… it brings out all the emotions and will always trigger me. I know they miss each other after all this – who wouldn’t miss Nic or Luke?’

“That was the most beautiful video. Thank you so much for this. I will never stop being grateful that Luke and Nic are our Polin;”
