Nick Kyrgios has pulled out of the Japan Open just before going to court for his quarterfinal clash with Taylor Fritz.
The Australian confirmed he was withdrawing from the tournament due to a knee problem and explained that he wants to take care of his body with some big events coming up at the end of the year.
“It’s the better option for my body,” he said. “I have to be smart and after hitting with Thanasi today I think this is the best thing to do. I have a few tournaments at the end of the year and I want to do well there.’
