Nick Carter has claimed he has witnesses who will discredit a woman’s claim that he sexually assaulted her in the early 2000s.
The Backstreet Boy, 43, has filed new legal documents claiming to have a dozen witnesses who will swear that the alleged victim’s charges are “factually impossible,” according to TMZ.
Shannon Ruth filed suit on December 2, 2022 for $30,000 in damages, accusing the Larger Than Life singer of taking her to his bus, giving her alcohol, forcing her to perform oral sex, and then raping her. The alleged incident occurred in 2001, when she was 17 years old and a minor.
Ruth also claims that she contracted a sexually transmitted infection, human papillomavirus (HPV) infection from the alleged assault, having been a virgin beforehand.
The woman claimed she met Nick while standing in line for autographs.

He has also stated that he is autistic and has cerebral palsy.
For his part, the Billboard Music Award winner maintains that there was no autograph line on the day in question and that fans did not have access to the buses and that fans, security personnel and a talent manager will testify to that.
The legal documents also claim that one person, who was a friend of the accuser at the time, said he did not have autism or cerebral palsy.
The witness also reportedly revealed that they don’t believe Shannon was at the concert.
Nick has always denied the charges and is countersuing for $2.35 million.
It’s the amount of money he and his bandmates allegedly lost after having to cancel appearances and endorsements due to sexual assault allegations.
He and his legal team claim that Shannon has been manipulated by a father and daughter, Jerome and Melissa Schuman, into making false claims in an attempt to extort money from him.
Melissa Schuman, formerly of the group Dream, alleged that she met Nick when they were making the movie The Hollow in 2002, and published her allegations in a since-deleted blog post from 2017.

Allegations: Shannon Ruth filed a lawsuit against the singer in December seeking $30,000 in damages, alleging that he gave her alcohol, forced her to perform oral sex and gave her HPV.
Coached: Nick’s legal team claims that Shannon is being coached by singer Melissa Schuman and her father. The Dream group member alleged that Nick raped her in 2003 while she and other friends were hanging out at Nick’s house (pictured in Los Angeles in 2016)
The actress claimed that the singer raped her while they were hanging out at her house with friends in 2003.
Nick denied the claims and the Los Angeles district attorney did not pursue a criminal case because the statute of limitations had passed, according to CNN.
The Sketchy Artist also maintains that Shannon’s former legal team backed out after his information was presented to them.
Countersuit: Nick has filed a countersuit for $2.35 million, the amount of money he claims the Backstreet Boys lost on canceled shows and endorsements as a result of the sexual assault allegations (pictured New York in 2019)
At the time of the filing, Nick’s attorney, Michael Holtz, said TMZ “As our Countersuit sets out in detail, Nick has been the target of a long-running and malicious conspiracy.”
‘He has never done the outrageous things of which he has been accused;’ the lawyer wrote: ‘Indeed, he is the victim of a calculated and concerted disinformation campaign designed to destroy his reputation.’
“He hopes to expose the truth, vindicate himself in court and put an end to the smears and extortion attempts forever.”
