“I was actually doing something else and they’re like, ‘Jamie wants you to do this.’ And I was like, “I’ll do anything for Jamie”… I got the blessing from him and Corinne [Foxx],’ he said.
The Wild ‘n Out star praised Foxx’s professionalism, describing him as someone who is “extremely private.”
“One thing I’ve always respected about the way Jamie has moved throughout his career, if you’ve noticed, is that he’s always been someone who’s extremely professional and extremely private.
“I mean, you never really hear anything other than just the great job he does as a professional and the fact that he handled this situation in the same way, you can only respect that.”
When it came to his health, Cannon had no information to offer, adding that he doesn’t ask questions about the superstar.
“We understand he had a stroke and he is recovering. But, you know, it’s been a little confusing… are you comfortable giving an update on how he’s doing? Do you know?’ asked host Billy Bush.
“I’m probably in the same boat as you in that same sense that I just know that, you know, as a friend, just as respectfully as I can, I’m not nosy,” Cannon replied.
‘I’m not asking any other questions. And apart from the information that is given to me and, you know, what is asked of me.

“And I think in this scenario of what I’ve always said is something like, ‘Hey, I’m here for you, whatever you want me to say, whatever you want me to do, I can be a mouthpiece. “And I think they said, ‘We’ve got it.'”
Cannon said Foxx’s family will release “whatever information they want to get out.”
“I was definitely one of those people with the heavy-handed prayers in the beginning… sending positive energy, love and prayers,” he said. And they said, “Yo, we all appreciate that, but we got it.” And you know, Jamie is happy with the work I did on Beat Shazam.
“I believe when he’s ready, he’s going to address the waiting fans around the world in a way that only he can.”

On May 12, Corrine spoke out to share an update on his condition, insisting her father had “been out of the hospital for weeks” and was even “playing pickleball.” Those details of that statement were subsequently confirmed to DailyMail.com by a Foxx spokesperson.
However, just two days later, Corrine was pictured visiting her father at a physical rehabilitation center in Chicago. Touted as the country’s top physical medicine and rehabilitation center, the facility treats “the most serious, complex conditions,” and specializes in treating serious conditions such as stroke, traumatic brain injury, and spinal cord injury.
Jamie is said to have arrived at the facility in late April and is “recovering well” after initial treatment at an Atlanta hospital.
It’s still unclear what the actor was hospitalized for, while his family is reluctant to release specific information.
“Family update: sad to see the media go wild,” Corinne wrote in May, alongside a report claiming his loved ones had been “preparing for the worst.”
“My father has been out of the hospital for weeks to recover. In fact, he played pickleball yesterday! Thank you for everyone’s prayers and support!’
