Nice defender Jean-Clair Todibo has revealed he is yet to make a decision on a potential move to the Premier League in the summer as he has been linked with moves to Chelsea and Manchester United.

The Frenchman has played a key role for his team this season. Nice are currently second in Ligue 1, but are still eleven points behind leaders Paris Saint-Germain.

Todibo were tipped for a possible move to the English top flight last year and a move to Man United could now be easier to achieve given Nice owner Sir Jim Ratcliffe’s recent investment in the English giants.

The 24-year-old is enjoying his strongest season in France since moving to the club from Barcelona three years ago and has produced impressive defensive performances to help the club keep 11 clean sheets in the league this season.

Todibo has now provided an update on his future ahead of the opening of the summer transfer window, clarifying his situation to avoid giving Nice supporters and any interested parties ‘false hope’.

Todibo played a starring role for Nice during their run to second place in the Ligue 1 standings this season

‘I am at Nice and we are having a great season. My head isn’t anywhere else. If I did that, it would be difficult for me personally and also for the group.

‘I feel very good in Nice. We’ll see what happens in the summer, but we’re not there yet. I don’t want to get ahead of myself. I don’t want to give false hope. For now I’m here in Nice.’

‘Football moves fast, you never know what’s going to happen. I’ll wait until summer to make my decision.

‘If I decide to stay, I will announce it. If I want to leave, I will announce that too and I will thank everyone, but we are not there yet.’

Chelsea were also previously linked with a transfer for the 24-year-old French international

Todibo has improved significantly in the south of France since joining from Barcelona after a spell in Barcelona where his first-team opportunities were limited.

Other top European clubs are expected to challenge Chelsea and United for his signature and the centre-back further revealed he wants to leave something ‘beautiful’ behind when he leaves Nice.

‘There are important matches coming up. “The goal is that if this is my last season at Nice, I want to leave here having done something great at the club,” he continued.

‘The supporters and the club deserve players who give everything on the pitch and achieve something substantial. Personally, when I leave, I want to leave something good behind.’
