Niagara Falls has joined more than a third of the 32 NFL teams in honoring Damar Hamlin as the iconic landmark was lit blue in support of Bills safety while stadiums across the US They also paid tribute to the player, who remains in intensive care. care as of Wednesday night.
Among the stadiums that glowed in the Bills’ red and blue uniform colors on Tuesday night were: Levi Stadium for the San Francisco 49ers; the Hard Rock Stadium of the Miami Dolphins; Denver Broncos’ Empower Field at Mile High; the Baltimore Ravens’ M&T Bank Stadium; the Gilette Stadium of the New England Patriots; Seattle Seahawks’ Lumen Field; TIAA Bank Field of the Jacksonville Jaguars; and the Caesars Superdome for the New Orleans Saints.
The Cincinnati Bengals also lit Paycor Stadium, where Hamlin suddenly collapsed in the first quarter of Monday Night Football, blue in support of the 2021 NFL Draft sixth-round pick.
The Las Vegas Raiders showed their solidarity by displaying Hamlin’s No. 3 jersey above the entrance to their stadium, Allegiant Stadium.

The Baltimore Ravens’ M&T Bank Stadium was lit up in the bill’s red and blue colors Tuesday.
The Hard Rock Stadium in Miami -home of the Dolphins- also shone red and blue this Tuesday
The Great Lakes region of upstate New York, of which the city of Buffalo is a part, also supported the team on both sides of the New York-Ontario border. The Ontario-based Niagara Parks commission lit Niagara Falls blue in honor of Hamlin.
“Our collective thoughts are with him, his family, his team and the city of Buffalo,” the commission wrote.
Buffalo Mayor Byron Brown announced Tuesday that the dome of City Hall would be illuminated in red and blue “to signify our collective prayers for Damar Hamlin, her family, the Bills organization, and her full recovery.”
The city’s only other professional sports team, the Buffalo Sabres, had their players arrive before their overtime win against the Washington Capitals on Tuesday wearing jerseys emblazoned with “LOVE FOR 3,” Hamlin’s jersey number.
“There’s an emotional connection to the city on the part of our team,” general manager Kevyn Adams said after the game.
Mary Friona-Celani, who founded the Totally Buffalo website and stores to celebrate the region, said she has received a large number of requests for a No. 3 jersey from fans wanting to show their support.
“Sport is our relief from politics, tragedy, death and destruction, so we turn to it. And when this happened, it’s just a dumb hit,” he told The Associated Press. ‘And then seeing these big strong guys crying and so heartbroken, how could you not be affected by it?’
A snow-covered Empower Field at Mile High, home of the Denver Broncos, also paid tribute to Hamlin.

Caesar’s Superdome in New Orleans, home of the Saints, was also lit up in Bills colors.
The Jacksonville Jaguars’ TIAA Bank Field had components of its roof covered in red and blue.
In another sign of support for Hamlin, every NFL team swapped out their Twitter avatar for a custom graphic featuring the safety’s No. 3 jersey along with the words, “PRAY FOR GAMES.”
The NFL’s official Twitter account also shared images of the 32 teams embracing in solidarity, along with the caption: “Football is family.”
The league also announced that the suspended Bills-Bengals game “will not resume this week” and that it has no clarification “regarding the potential resumption of play at a later date.”
As of Wednesday, Hamlin remains in intensive care at a Cincinnati hospital in Ohio, though he is slowly showing encouraging signs of recovery.
