N’Golo Kante showed that despite his age he still has it, after an excellent acrobatic header in the match between Al-Ittihad and Al-Hilal.

The Chelsea legend moved from Stamford Bridge to the Saudi Pro League last summer, joining the likes of Karim Benzema and Fabinho at the club.

Kante, not known for his goalscoring prowess, made a telling contribution early in the heavyweight match at the Kingdom Arena in Riyadh when he scored a precise cross after just 12 minutes.

The 32-year-old threw himself onto left-back Zakaria Al Hawsawi’s cross and produced a rarely seen diving header past the goalkeeper to open the scoring.

Unfortunately for the away side, it proved to be the odd bright spot on an otherwise disappointing evening as the league leaders ran out 3-1 winners.

N’Golo Kante’s second league goal for Al-Ittihad came in spectacular fashion on Friday evening

Goals from Saleh Alshehri, Malcom and Saud Abdulhamid put Jorge Jesus’ side nine points ahead of Cristiano Ronaldo’s Al-Nassr in the standings.

Al-Ittihad, who won the title last season, have the chance to take revenge when the sides renew hostilities in the AFC Champions League quarter-final on Tuesday.

Kante has played twenty league matches for Al-Ittihad this season, with Friday’s effort being his second goal for the club.

He has also provided three assists in a campaign that has seen the squad sit fifth in the table, 25 points behind the leaders.
