NFL star’s mother is charged for package theft one month after doorbell camera footage surfaced

Marsha Kearney, the mother of Kansas City Chiefs receiver Rashee Rice, is facing a misdemeanor charge over allegations that she stole a package from her neighbor, authorities in Texas confirmed to DailyMail.com.

This news follows the release of doorbell camera footage showing the 43-year-old North Richland Hills resident taking the package from a neighbor in her apartment building. According to TMZ, the package contained records by singer-songwriter Chappell Roan.

Kearney will appear in court later next month.

“The reporting party advised that a package had been removed from their porch,” reads a statement from the North Richland Hills PD to DailyMail.com. ‘The reporting party notified their Ring Camera, located at their front door, recorded the incident and handed it over to police.’

Kearney was later served with an arrest warrant before turning herself in on October 15.

Rashee Rice, 24, faces comeback after knee surgery amid spate of Chiefs injuries

Earlier this year, she was accused of stealing a number of household items from a man, including food, cups, laundry products, merchandise and socks. The case was ultimately dismissed on June 4 after Kearney appeared in court and met unspecified conditions, a court official told TMZ.

This latest incident is said to have occurred just hours after the Chiefs defeated the Los Angeles Chargers on September 29.

In the video, obtained by TMZ, a woman walks past the camera wearing a “Momma-Rice” sweater with the number 4 on it and looks straight into the lens as she passes.

A moment later the woman returns and pushes a package away from the door with her foot.

But unfortunately for her, while she thought she was out of the camera’s view, the woman is seen bending down to grab the package, lifting a box and then walking away.

Rice, meanwhile, is out indefinitely after suffering a significant knee injury in the win over the Chargers. He has since undergone successful surgery, leaving the Chiefs struggling to add receivers.

This week, the Chiefs acquired veteran DeAndre Hopkins from Tennessee in exchange for a fifth-round pick.

Rice was also involved in a major incident with police in April, when he was caught running from the scene of a horrific high-speed crash on a Dallas freeway. Four other vehicles were damaged in the accident, which could have been fatal.

Two people were taken to hospital, others were treated at the scene for minor injuries.

Rice was ultimately charged with aggravated assault, hit-and-run causing serious bodily injury and six counts of hit-and-run causing injury.
