Cincinnati Bengals star Jermaine Burton is accused of beating and choking a 19-year-old woman he was dating and threatening to commit suicide.
That’s according to the Cincinnati researcherwho claims the attack was reported on the morning of December 30.
The woman allegedly told police that Burton, 23, is “a narcissist” and “a manipulator.” But she declined to file charges against the trustee.
The NFL star is accused of chasing the woman into her apartment, breaking her phone, beating her and choking her.
According to the woman, Burton also grabbed a knife from the dishwasher, held it to his neck and “said he was going to kill himself.”
“Jermaine Burton of the Bengals just broke into my house,” she told police as she sobbed heavily, according to The Enquirer.

‘He broke my phone… he was quite abusive. He does a lot of things that I won’t tolerate.’
She added: ‘He got into my dishwasher and grabbed a knife and held it to his neck… I don’t deserve this.’
The woman told police that Burton “yelled” and “yelled” at her in the car before they went their separate ways. But when she got home, he was waiting for her.
‘He wouldn’t let me go in. And he strangled me…’ she said. ‘He blocked the door so I couldn’t get in, and when I did go in, he chased me upstairs. He broke into my house. He broke my phone.
“This is the second time in the last month he’s broken my phone. He broke my phone. He hit me and left.” Burton was gone when police arrived.
Amid rumors of a possible incident this weekend, Burton posted a cryptic message on social media. “*lies*, he wrote. “Stop hitting my phone.”
The woman suffered minor injuries, according to The Enquirer. The 23-year-old receiver was selected in the third round of the 2024 NFL draft despite concerns about his off-field antics.
While playing for Alabama, he was caught on camera appearing to punch a female fan who rushed onto the field. Burton continues to have disciplinary issues since joining Cincinnati.

Burton and the woman are said to have met last September and had been dating for several weeks before the alleged attack.
According to The Enquirer, the two dated before they got into an argument. Police were called and the woman accused Burton of meeting her at her apartment in a Cincinnati neighborhood.
The alleged incident occurred days before the Bengals — without Burton — traveled to Pittsburgh for their final game of the NFL regular season. The 23-year-old is also reportedly facing eviction from his apartment.
In a statement to The Enquirer, the Bengals said they are “aware of information relating” to the receiver.
“We will continue to evaluate as we gather additional details and will have no further comment at this time,” the team said.
