San Francisco 49ers star Fred Warner’s wife has spilled the beans on the NFL’s best-kept “secrets,” revealing that WAGs have to pay for their own tickets among a slew of other team rituals before game day.
“Get ready with me as I tell you some amazing things about the NFL that I didn’t know before I met my husband,” Sydney Warner told her 64,200 TikTok followers while applying her makeup.
“All of these are things that are specific to our team, our organization, our city and our situation.”
Sydney Warner, the wife of San Francisco 49ers linebacker Fred Warner, shared secrets about the lives of many NFL couples on TikTok ahead of Super Bowl LVII.
Sydney shared that players’ wives and girlfriends need permission to access the field.
Married to the Niners linebacker since June 2022, the former contestant on season 24 of ‘The Bachelor’ first addressed the issue of how NFL players are paid.
“They get a paycheck just like any other normal job, just like everyone else,” Sydney said, joking that she initially expected a Brinks truck to deliver her husband’s base salary of $12,925,000.
Warner signed a five-year contract extension with the 49ers in 2021, worth just over $95 million. Sydney then revealed that players must sleep alone the night before each game, regardless of location.
“You are not allowed to spend the night with your partner at away or home games,” said the 27-year-old.
“For the away games they are obviously in a hotel, but if I choose to go to the same hotel, we are not allowed to be in the same room and then the home games also sleep in the hotel.”
Sydney also said Niners players must clock in by 10:30 p.m. the night before games and that the coaching staff conducts a “bed check” so they can “control the environment” and avoid outside distractions.
Sydney is a former babysitter and said NFL players have a “bed check” the night before games.

WAGs must also purchase their own tickets and need permission to gain access to the field, where they can pose for selfies before and after games.
“All their game tickets, home and away, are not free,” Sydney said. They are at a discount price, but they are not free. […] You have to ask for those passes and if you are cleared you get one, you don’t just get them at every game.
‘You have to ask and be approved.’
The Niners’ Levi Stadium also houses a daycare service for wives and girlfriends with babies and toddlers, according to the former babysitter, who says kids should be dropped off before games and picked up in the last room.
Sydney and her husband need not worry about that as they don’t have children together at the moment, but the former babysitter did share that she waits about an hour for Warner to come out of the Niners’ locker room once games are over. .
That’s because players have to shower, talk to the media, and talk to coaches and teammates about their performances. Once they get home, Warner gets comfortable and watches the game tape for hours.
Sydney also shared that families of NFL players receive money management courses.
In the second part of his TikTok series, Sydney blurts out the help NFL families receive from the league for players to develop financial literacy, primarily on how to manage their money.
He also revealed that every 49ers player receives a Super Bowl ticket, purchased by the organization, even if they are not one of the two teams involved in America’s biggest sports game.
“If you can’t make it, like we can’t, you can resell them,” Sydney said, before mentioning that the seats provided tend to be “nosebleeds.”
Warner is a two-time first-team All-Pro and professional bowler, having made the cut this season and in 2020. The 26-year-old linebacker has 634 tackles and 6.5 tackles since being drafted by the Niners in 2018, surpassing that with 35 deflected passes and 7 loose balls.
