NFL reporter Michelle Beisner-Buck has surgery after husband Joe drove a golf ball into her ankle

ESPN reporter Michelle Beisner-Buck required ankle surgery following a golfing accident involving her husband and colleague Joe Buck.

While enjoying a day at the course, Buck “accidentally hit a ball” on his wife’s ankle, sending her to the hospital with a broken ankle.

The couple’s ESPN colleague Adam Schefter broke the news on Wednesday with an image of Beisner-Buck, giving two thumbs up, post-surgery and “news in development” written at the bottom.

“More injury news from ESPN: @MichelleBeisner underwent surgery today to repair nerve damage in her ankle, which occurred in a freak accident when her husband Joe accidentally hit it with a golf ball, sources said,” Schefter wrote.

“We’re getting ready to turn back,” Beisner-Buck texted Schefter.

Beisner-Buck, a former Denver Broncos cheerleader, has been with ESPN as an NFL reporter since 2014 and now works on “Monday Night Countdown.”

On the other hand, Buck joined the global leader in sports in 2022 as the voice of “Monday Night Football,” alongside color commentator Troy Aikman. The two have been partners for a long time at FOX Sports.

The couple married in 2014 and welcomed twin sons Blake and Wyatt in 2018.

Buck also has two daughters, Trudy and Natalie, from a previous marriage.

In a 2022 interview, Buck cited his wife as one of the reasons he moved to ESPN. The broadcaster admitted that the chance to spend more time together during the NFL season increased the appeal of the job.

“It dawned on us that we weren’t really going to have any time apart anymore,” he said. “I don’t know what this is going to do to my marriage and our relationship, but we’re just going to have to gamble and hope that it makes it stronger — rather than ending it.”

Beisner-Buck’s ankle fracture is the second injury to an ESPN colleague that Schefter has reported in recent weeks. In August, Schefter reported that NFL reporter Field Yates had suffered a shoulder injury.

“During an activity to determine the draft order in his fantasy football league during @espnfantasy Ultimate Draft Weekend in the Bahamas, Yates dislocated his shoulder, sources said,” Schefter wrote on X.

‘The injury resulted in a short hospital stay, but Yates has since been discharged and hopes to be ready for opening day.’
