NFL ‘launches investigation’ into why the Bengals didn’t list Joe Burrow on their injury report before Ravens game, despite quarterback wearing a wrist brace when they landed in Baltimore

The NFL is reportedly investigating the Cincinnati Bengals for why Joe Burrow was not listed on their injury report for Thursday Night Football.

The star quarterback sat out the second half of their game against the Baltimore Ravens after suffering a wrist injury in the second quarter.

The 26-year-old was in obvious discomfort after connecting on a four-yard touchdown pass to Joe Mixon on what would be his final play of the game.

The Bengals deleted social media posts from Wednesday night indicating Burrow was dealing with the injury before the game.

A deleted video showed Burrow leaving the team bus in Baltimore wearing a black sleeve/brace on his throwing hand.

Another photo showed Burrow stepping off the team plane while holding an iPad in his right hand.

If a compliance issue with Burrow’s injury is proven, it could result in the Bengals being fined or losing a draft pick.

After the game, Bengals head coach Zac Taylor said he was unaware of the injury before game day.

Taylor pointed to an early tackle where Burrow landed on his wrist as the cause of the sprain.

“It looked like he sprained his wrist,” Taylor said. “I noticed it early in the game and then felt it on the touchdown pass.”

Burrow completed 11 of 17 passes for 101 yards and a touchdown before leaving early. In his absence, the Bengals ultimately lost the game 20-34.

“That was the first time I ever saw anything like it,” Taylor added.

Burrow is currently listed as questionable as the Bengals prepare to face the Pittsburgh Steelers on November 26.

Cincinnati currently has a record of 5-5 as they sit fourth in the AFC North.
