NFL Hall of Famer Billy Shaw dead at 85: Buffalo Bills legend passes away from hyponatremia
Buffalo Bills legend Billy Shaw has tragically passed away at the age of 85, his family announced Friday.
The Hall of Famer, who spent nearly a decade in the NFL as an offensive guard, died of hyponatremia.
“Billy’s all-around athleticism brought a new dimension to the guard position and made the Buffalo Bills of the 1960s a formidable opponent capable of crushing opponents with a punishing rushing attack,” said Hall of Fame President Jim Porter , in a statement on Friday.
“And while Billy could be ruthless with anyone who crossed his path on the football field, off the field he was the classic example of the ‘Southern Gentlemen’ to everyone he encountered.”
