NFL fans react to Taylor Swift celebrating Chiefs star re-signing with the team on ring ceremony Instagram live: ‘She signed that girlfriend extension’

Fans had mixed reactions on social media as Taylor Swift celebrated Mecole Hardman’s extension with the Kansas City Chiefs on Thursday.

On June 6, the reigning Super Bowl champions granted the wide receiver a one-year extension to remain in Kansas City.

After the team’s ring ceremony on Thursday evening, Hardman was on an Instagram live feed from his girlfriend Chariah Gordon. Swift then addressed the comments, praising Hardman’s relationship with her boyfriend, Travis Kelce, and the team.

“AND WE GET ANOTHER YEAR OF MECOLE,” Swift’s account wrote with a crown emoji.

“JOIN THE PARTY FROM LIVERPOOL LETS GOOOOOOO,” read one pinned comment, followed by a United Kingdom flag.

Meanwhile, fans took to social media with mixed reactions. Some praised Swift for the fandom she has for the team, while others insisted the 14-time Grammy winner was pretentious.

“He was happy that she signed her girlfriend’s offseason contract extension,” one user wrote. “She was just returning a favor.”

“She’s still going through with the act,” another joked. “I have to give her credit.”

“That’s how you know she’s a fan,” a third wrote. A fourth added: ‘She has honestly had more success in one year of being a fan than most of us have in our entire lives. I’m crine.’

“And we’re facing Taylor! Feed it back, Mecole! – we are for it!’ said a fifth.

“Yes, she definitely runs her Instagram account,” said another sarcastically.
