NFL fans concerned for Colts owner Jim Irsay after shocking video emerges
After Jim Irsay emerged from under Lucas Oil Stadium and was unable to be rolled around under his own power, NFL fans have expressed concern for the 65-year-old owner of the Indianapolis Colts.
Irsay was pushed Sunday onto StairSteady, a device typically used in hospitals for patients without leg strength that is easier to maneuver than a wheelchair.
Irsay’s performance came after the Colts’ Week 18 win over the Jacksonville Jaguars, which solidified the team’s 8–9 final record.
The Colts’ owner has already issued a statement since the end of the game saying the team will retain general manager Chris Ballard and head coach Shane Steichen.
Irsay has made no public comments about stepping aside or selling the team. He has also been public about his addiction issues and other vices that have come his way.
In a 2023 interview with HBO SportsIrsay admitted that he has attended rehab at least 15 times for alcoholism and painkiller addiction, but has not consumed an alcoholic beverage since 2002.

Some will recall that Irsay was arrested in 2014 for operating a vehicle while intoxicated, which he now claims happened because he was targeted because he was “a rich, white billionaire.”
Irsay insisted that recent hip surgery was the reason he failed a sobriety test, not alcohol.
Irsay was also found unconscious in his home in late 2023 due to a suspected overdose, per the Athletics.
Irsay has rarely been seen in public during the 2024 NFL season and those on social media have made it clear they are concerned for his well-being.
