NFL fans blast ‘dirty’ Ravens linebacker for ‘cheap’ Josh Allen hit as league is slammed over player safety

An apparently cheap shot at Buffalo Bills quarterback Josh Allen has fans talking after his team suffered their first loss this season to the Baltimore Ravens.

In a clip posted by X account MLFootball, Allen’s helmet is taken off during a struggle. With the quarterback’s head unprotected, Baltimore linebacker Raquan Smith was seen charging toward the dogpile.

While the clip does not clearly indicate whether Smith hit Allen in the head, fans took to social media to express their anger toward the Ravens and the NFL.

One fan wrote ‘that was such a pointless hit at the time.’

Meanwhile, some claimed that the ‘Ravens have always been dirty.’

Fans were outraged by an apparent cheap shot on Josh Allen after his helmet was torn on Sunday

‘Are we surprised that Roquan Smith did that? I mean he’s been doing that his whole career,” a third user claimed.

“Humphrey is the DIRTY MF who ripped off Josh’s helmet! Then Smith with the late goal,” added a fourth. “Something to bookmark for playoff time!”

“Player safety is crucial and it is essential that everyone follows the rules to avoid unnecessary risks,” said a fifth.

Allen struggled in the Week 4 matchup, throwing 16 for 29 for 180 yards and zero touchdowns. Buffalo’s only trip to the end zone came on Ty Johnson’s rushing effort. Kicker Tyler Bass then added four points in their losing effort.

Meanwhile, Lamar Jackson shined in the win, completing 13 of 18 passes for 156 yards and two touchdowns. Derrick Henry, Justice Hill and Justin Tucker also contributed to the Ravens’ scoring.

Last year’s AFC title contenders improved to a 2-2 record. The Ravens lost to the Chiefs and the Raiders to start the season before getting their first win over the Cowboys. Baltimore will take on the Cincinnati Bengals on October 6.

On the other hand, Allen and the Bills moved to a 3-1 record after tying wins against the Cardinals, Dolphins and Jaguars. The Bills will take on the Houston Texans – also on the 6th.
