The thought that the call was related to Swift stems from the amount of attention the NFL has paid to the musical star due to her relationship with Kansas City Chiefs star Travis Kelce.
Bills quarterback Josh Allen shouted an audible that caught the attention of NFL fans on Thursday
A post from ‘NFL on Prime’ X account sparked a debate over whether Allen said JR Smith or Taylor Swift
The debate was almost one-sided, as the TNF account and others were bashed for saying Swift
After being mobbed by fans, the NFL on Prime posted a poll asking users if they heard “Taylor Swift” or “JR Smith,” which found that more than 95 percent voted for “JR Smith.”
Fans have previously complained about the amount of coverage Swift has received from the league, and the media and stunts like this are likely to further these feelings among non-Swifties.
“He clearly says: JR Smith,” multiple accounts said in the comments below the video.
“He clearly said JR Smith, the glazing is insane,” said another commenter.
‘This is getting embarrassing. He clearly said JR Smith,” someone said with a laughing emoji.”
“100% JR Smith… y’all are doing everything you can to hype Taylor Swift,” read one message.
“Stop trying to be such nerds,” said another user.

“It’s not Taylor Swift. Stop trying to include her in everything,” another commented.
“Y’all must be deaf,” one person posted.
“Typical nfl d rifing t Swift,” one user commented.
‘Imagine hearing Taylor Swift instead of JR Smith. Sad,” read another.
One person whose comment seemed to remain neutral said: ‘This is interestingly a “green needle” situation where if you listen to Taylor Swift you hear Taylor Swift and if you listen to JR Smith you hear JR Smith.”
But some on social media agreed with TNF, saying they had also heard Taylor Swift
However, some took issue with TNF, with NFL reporter Don Kleiman even writing, “Josh Allen actually mentioned an audible call from Taylor Swift… “TAYLOR SWIFT, TAYLOR SWIFT”‘
Another NFL fan wrote, “Not Josh Allen and the Bills dedicating an entire section to Taylor Swift. This is the best thing I’ve seen all day, I wonder what Travis Kelce’s reaction to this is…
“Lol Swifties, even Josh Allen is trying to find a Taylor Swift!! Travis Kelce continues to beat the Bills on and off the field,” another added.
Meanwhile, someone mentioned all of Allen’s sounds from Thursday night, including Taylor Swift. “Tonight Josh Allen heard: ‘Taylor Swift’ ‘Lebron James’ ‘Jamal Adams’ ‘Rita’ And my favorite… ‘ROAST BEEF’ Lol,” they wrote.
