After this week’s slate of NFL games, the New York Giants are now in the driver’s seat to have the top overall pick in the 2025 NFL Draft.
Meanwhile, the team that held that spot in Week 16, the Las Vegas Raiders, are in sixth place after a win over Jacksonville lost their future selection.
Although the Giants are alone at 2-13 in first place, the NFL has five 3-12 teams, with the Raiders being selected last of all due to head-to-head tiebreakers.
Between New York and Las Vegas are New England, Jacksonville, Tennessee and Cleveland, in order.
Four of the top six teams, with the Jaguars and Patriots the only two exceptions, are all said to be looking for an upgrade at quarterback.
Meanwhile, two-time Heisman Trophy winner Travis Hunter appears to be the consensus top-rated player in the class of 2025, with him not expected to advance beyond the top three.
The New York Giants are currently the No. 1 pick in next April’s NFL Draft
The Raiders used to have that pick, but fell to No. 6 after Sunday’s win over the Jaguars
By beating Jacksonville on Sunday, the Raiders now pick three spots behind them with two games remaining for these teams in the regular season.
In addition to the top six picks, there are three teams at 4-11, with the Panthers dramatically improving their record and lowering their draft position in recent weeks, including Sunday’s win over the Cardinals.
The Panthers have the No. 7 pick, followed by the Jets and the Bears. Eighth-ranked New York will be interesting as the team may have the most interesting offseason in football.
Should the team move on from Aaron Rodgers, the Jets would likely take a quarterback with their first pick in the 2025 NFL Draft after clearing almost everyone except their aging signal caller.
Colorado’s Shedeur Sanders is the consensus top-rated quarterback entering the draft, followed by Miami’s Cam Ward, Alabama’s Jalen Milroe and Texas’ Quinn Ewers.
