Two key players from Georgia’s back-to-back College Football Playoff titles have declared for the NFL Draft.

Massive tight end Darnell Washington and defensive back Kelee Ringo will enter April’s event after announcing their intentions on Instagram.

“My time in Athens has come to an end as I pursue my dreams of playing in the NFL,” the 6-foot-7, 270-pound Washington wrote.

“To my Bulldogs who have been between the hedgerows with me both past and present, we have won in many areas, but in the field we have earned ourselves the title of national champion, twice,” Ringo wrote on Instagram. “We’ve helped build something special and I’m grateful to have had you as a teammate.”

Darnell Washington (6-foot-7, 270 pounds) teamed up with tight end Brock Bowers to give Georgia a commanding 1-2 punch at the oft-overlooked position. Although he wasn't one of the team's biggest stars, he has the size to play in the NFL.

Kelee Ringo will long be remembered for a pick-six interception that sealed Georgia's first national title in 41 seasons with a 33-18 win over Alabama to cap off the 2021 season.

The Bulldogs clinched two straight national titles with a 65-7 victory over TCU on Monday night.

A celebration is planned for Saturday in Athens with a parade through the city and a ceremony at Sanford Stadium.

Ringo had two interceptions, seven pass defenses, a forced fumble and 42 tackles last season.

Another Georgia tight end, who used Ryland Goede sparingly, posted on Twitter that he will be entering the transfer portal. Two other backup tight ends, Arik Gilbert and Brett Seither, had already said they intended to transfer.

The Bulldogs are still well stocked at that position with Bowers set to return for his third season and former top recruit Oscar Delp coming off a promising freshman season.

Ringo is expected by many to be a first round pick after winning a couple of national titles.
