NFL Commissioner Roger Goodell has put pen to paper on a new three-year contract, bringing his total career earnings to a staggering $700 million.
Goodell, who started as an administrative intern at the NFL before working his way up to the job in just under 20 years, spent 17 years as commissioner after being elected in 2006 to succeed Paul Tagliabue.
And on Wednesday it was confirmed that the 64-year-old will remain in the role for 20 years after extending his $64m one-year contract until March 2027.
An NFL statement read: “The Compensation Committee today updated full ownership that an agreement has been reached to extend Commissioner Roger Goodell’s contract for another three years, through March 2027.”
The new contract marks Goodell’s fourth extension as NFL commissioner, having also earned rematches in 2009, 2012 and 2017.
