NFL announcer Ian Eagle hilariously uses Taylor Swift reference after Travis Kelce scores a touchdown on his Chiefs return amid dating rumors: ‘Kelce finds a blank space!’

NFL announcer Ian Eagle hilariously poked fun at Travis Kelce after the Chiefs tight end scored a touchdown against the Jaguars on Sunday, while referencing Taylor Swift to highlight the occasion amid dating rumors between the pop star and two-time Super Bowl champion.

Kelce, 33, caught a pass from Chiefs QB Patrick Mahomes to extend Kansas City’s 7-6 lead over Jacksonville with 11:31 left in the third quarter.

And as Kelce celebrated his first touchdown of the season with teammates after missing Kansas City’s season-opening 21-20 loss to the Detroit Lions in Week 1, Eagle said, “Kelce finds an empty space for the score!”

The broadcaster was referring to Swift’s hit single “Blank Space,” which topped the charts upon its release in 2014.

Kelce and Swift, who were born in the same year (1989), have been romantically linked in recent weeks after they were thought to be hanging out in New York City over the summer.

In fact, Kelce said on the latest episode of his podcast with his older brother Jason that he previously tried to get the “You Belong with Me” singer his number.

The eight-time Pro Bowler attended Swift’s concert at Arrowhead Stadium in Kansas City earlier this month, ready with a master plan to ask her out after the live performance.

Kelce cleverly wrote his phone number on his wristband, hoping he could give it to Swift when they met backstage after she finished her performance.

However, Swift did not want to meet anyone after her show and preferred to rest her vocals after her 44-song performance, rejecting Kelce in the process.
