Neymar threw out the ceremonial first pitch during the Miami Marlins MLB season opener on Thursday – the day after he went for drinks in town with David Beckham.

The Brazilian star saw his throw caught by Marlins star Luis Arraez to loud cheers at LoanDepot Park, and the forward greeted the crowd with a big smile and a wave of his finger in the air.

The Marlins even shared a video of Neymar’s visit on their X (Twitter) account and he also posed for a photo with Nick Gordon, Jazz Chisolm Jr and Arraez before their match against Pittsburgh Pirates.

The Brazilian is currently recovering from anterior cruciate ligament surgery and meniscus injuries in his left knee – an injury that will rule him out of this summer’s Copa America, held in the United States.

The 32-year-old’s appearance on the mound for the Marlins game came a day after he dated Inter Miami co-owner David Beckham.

The duo was tagged in a photo with David Grutman, the owner of several Miami restaurants, including Gekko, where they spent their Wednesday evening.

Grecko, a Japanese steakhouse and sushi restaurant, is a celebrity hotspot in Miami. Owner Grutman appears to be good friends with Beckham and regularly attends Major League Soccer matches in Miami.

While in town, Neymar could be tempted to reunite with his former Barcelona strikers in the form of Lionel Messi and Luis Suarez, both of whom now naturally play for Beckham’s Miami team.

Together, the trio led Barcelona to Champions League glory in Spain in 2015.

Neymar moved to Paris Saint-Germain in 2017 and later played with Messi again. The Argentina World Cup winner spent two years in the French capital from 2021 before making his blockbuster MLS move.

Neymar now plays for Al Hilal in Saudi Arabia and will move from Paris in 2023.

During his time in Miami, Neymar also made it to the Miami Heat NBA match on Tuesday night – they lost 113-92 to the Golden State Warriors.
