A newlywed bride tragically died during her wedding celebration in Brazil this weekend, just hours after tying the knot with her fiancé.

The tragedy occurred on Sunday afternoon at a property in the city of Limeira in São Paulo state, when Elisangela Gazano, 38, lost her balance and fell into a swimming pool of a rented mansion where she was hosting a party.

The guests celebrated not only Gazano’s wedding the day before, but also her daughter’s birthday.

Local reports said the non-swimmer had been dancing at the water’s edge when she slipped and fell into the water and immediately panicked.

Her fellow revelers tried to save her and called emergency services, but Gazano went into cardiac arrest when she was rushed to hospital and was pronounced dead on arrival.

Friend Flavia Silva said in a moving farewell message on social media after the drowning tragedy: ‘I met you in the market in the past few days and you were so happy that you were getting married.

‘See how fate is a dream come true and on the same day, without knowing that there would be a farewell, would be your departure.

“Wherever you are, I want you to know it was a pleasure meeting you.

“Your joy was contagious, your laugh was the best and when you put it together with mine, everyone stopped to look at you.

“May God comfort the hearts of your family and your husband. My condolences to everyone. You will be missed.”

Elisangela’s funeral will take place this afternoon.

Her death was listed as an accident by Limeira police.

It comes as a man whose wife died when he overturned their golf cart goes on trial for causing her death in Australia.

In June 2022, newlywed Marina Morgan died in a horror buggy accident while on her honeymoon.

The buggy overturned while husband Robbie Awad was trying to make a U-turn.

He was unhurt but Marina, 29, died at the scene despite desperate attempts by a doctor and an off-duty firefighter to save her.

The accident occurred on Whitsunday Boulevard at the northern end of Hamilton Island, Queensland.

Robbie now faces four charges over the crash, with his trial scheduled for July 5 and 6 following a series of negotiations between Mr Morgan’s lawyers and the prosecution.

If it cannot be completed within two days, it will resume on July 11 and 12.

Mr. Awad and Mrs. Hanna celebrated their honeymoon Hamilton Island after their big church wedding in Sydney on June 11.

Bystanders, including an off-duty firefighter, a doctor and a dentist, tried to save Ms Morgan at the scene for 35 minutes, but were unable to.

A helicopter called to take her to Townsville hospital was halted after the extent of her injuries became known.

Mr Awad’s case was first mentioned in Proserpine Magistrates’ Court in December 2022 and he was granted bail. Courier mail reported.

He pleaded not guilty to causing his wife’s death and has sought new representation since last year.
