Newly-single Kelly Bensimon gives the peace sign as she steps out looking happy after calling off her wedding at the last minute over prenup dispute

Newly single Kelly Bensimon appeared to be in high spirits as she took to the stage in New York City after making the shocking decision to call off her wedding to Scott Litner.

Just two weeks after calling off her wedding at the last minute, the 56-year-old Real Housewives of New York alum beamed as she flashed a smile to onlookers on her way to the gym.

For the laid-back outing, the former Elle Accessories editor-in-chief wore large black sunglasses, a gray crop top and tiny black shorts.

She completed her sporty look with a shoulder bag, a gold watch, matching bracelets, sneakers and her long light brown hair in loose waves.

The reality star called off her wedding to fiancé Scott Litner just four days before she was set to tie the knot on June 29.

In a statement to Page Six On Tuesday, the former reality star said, “I’ve decided that my two daughters are my priority and I’m not going through with this wedding.”

She has since revealed that her decision was prompted by Scott’s refusal to sign a prenup, which she described as “the ultimate warning sign.”

But Scott would think this is an ‘excuse’.

“Scott still wants to marry Kelly and while that won’t happen within a few days as originally expected, he believes they can get back to a place where that is possible,” a source told DailyMail.com.

“He’s upset for a number of reasons. There were so many wheels in motion for the wedding, it was supposed to be a very special day and now it’s not happening.”

But Scott would think this is an ‘excuse’.

‘He wants to find out where things went wrong and put the situation right.

“Scott didn’t want a prenup because he considers himself more traditional, and with a prenup, he feels like you’re undermining a lifelong relationship. He didn’t want to turn the marriage into a business deal.”

The insider explained that those closest to Scott and Kelly were shocked by the recent events.

“Friends were actually surprised and thought everything was going well between the two,” the source explained. “So despite any tensions in their relationship that may have existed, friends didn’t see this coming at all.”

Bensimon kept her mind off her canceled wedding by taking a family trip to the Hamptons on Saturday

A source close to Kelly said at the time People that she now takes the time to focus on herself.

Just a day later, she told Us Weekly, “I haven’t gotten to the point in business and life where I’m going to make bad decisions because of a man.

“He of all people should have understood that we had to protect each other before we got married. I’m really shocked that he refused a prenuptial agreement.”

The reality star, who reportedly has a net worth of $10 million, said Scott, who is a wealth adviser, “thought I was going into this commitment without any legal protection, that I was leaving everything up to fate.”

The reality TV personality and financier prepared for an intimate ceremony on June 29.

Kelly and Scott were scheduled to have two ceremonies: a backyard wedding in Boston for their closest loved ones, followed by a larger celebration in the Hamptons.

The couple got engaged last summer over the Fourth of July weekend, when the financier proposed during a trip to Lake Geneva, Wisconsin, where she had vacationed as a child.

Kelly was previously married to famed photographer Gilles Bensimon from 1997 to 2006 and they have daughters Sea, 26, and Teddy, 23.

Scott has now been married twice and also has children.

The businessman proposed to her on a speedboat while she was wearing a bikini, which took her completely by surprise.

“Scott proposed to me, literally in Wisconsin, right around where I grew up,” she told DailyMail.com. “I grew up in Rockford, Illinois, and he proposed to me in Lake Geneva Wisconsin.”
