Newlywed Joss Stone was overcome with emotion as she took a bow after the opening night of her new musical The Time Traveller’s Wife at the Apollo Theater in London on Wednesday.

The singer, 35, beamed and blew kisses as she was greeted by applause from the audience before sharing a hug with co-writer David Stewart, 71, of Eurythmics fame.

The appearance came just hours after Joss announced she had secretly tied the knot with long-term partner Cody DaLuz, who was there to support her on her big night.

The British singer looked stunning in a chic floral maxi dress with sassy cutouts at her slim waist.

Joss also wore a huge diamond ring on her wedding finger, which she showed off earlier in the evening as she walked the red carpet.

Joss and Dave co-wrote the music and lyrics with Kait Kerrigan with the script written by playwright Lauren Gunderson.

Based on the 2003 novel about a woman who has to go it alone while her husband travels through time, it was also made into a film in 2009 starring Rachel McAdams and Eric Bana.

After opening night, critics remained divided, with some calling the show “lame,” while others called it “truly magical.”

In The Standard, Nick Curtis got straight to the point, saying he was ‘astounded’ that so much talent could produce such a ‘bland’ and ‘unpalatable’ musical.

Saying, “The grand romance of Audrey Niffenegger’s 2003 bestseller, which asked clever questions about how you would cope if your partner was repeatedly, involuntarily transported through time, is played here for somber sentiment and goofy laughs.”

Meanwhile, Greg Stewart enters Theater week gave four stars and said that despite the show having ‘relatively few songs’, the production was hailed as ‘magical’

Promoting the show on 5 News earlier today, she shared the surprising news as she recalled how she caught a bouquet during one of the musical’s performances, prompting her to tie the knot.

He told the show’s director Bill Buckhurst, “(The bouquet) came towards me and I almost reached out to catch the flowers.”

“They dropped down here and there was an empty chair – the only empty chair in the whole room.”

She continued, “And no one went to pick them up and I thought, they were for me! So I picked them up and everyone said “yay!!!” Anyway, I went home to Nashville and we got married last Thursday.”

Joss left everyone in the studio stunned, joking: ‘And I thought it was a good omen!’.

“Wow, that’s real magic,” said the director.

While a beaming Joss agreed: “I know I thought, it must be a good sign.”
