Newly-fired Michigan coach Chris Partridge ‘destroyed computer evidence around school’s sign-stealing scandal’ as new NCAA evidence also claims booster named ‘Uncle T’ gave Connor Stalions thousands of dollars to run the scheme

Newly fired Michigan assistant Chris Partridge destroyed computer evidence in an attempt to cover up the school’s sign-stealing scandal, according to a new report.

The school announced Friday that Partridge, who had served as the Wolverines’ linebackers coach, had been “relieved of his duties.”

And according to Yahoo! SportNCAA evidence alleges Partridge destroyed evidence after the scandal broke as ex-staffer Connor Stalion filed for bankruptcy.

Stalions were reportedly sent to opponents’ games to record video that would be used to decode their in-game signals.

He resigned as the school’s recruiting analyst earlier this month.

Yahoo! says Partridge was unaware of Stalion’s sign stealing at the time.

In addition, Yahoo! wrote that a booster named “Uncle T” in an NCAA report helped fund the alleged scheme and gave Stalion “thousands of dollars” to carry out the operation.

On Thursday, coach Jim Harbaugh and Michigan agreed to accept his three-game suspension over the scandal.

The Big Ten announced last week that Harbaugh was banned from coaching on the sidelines until the postseason, finding the school “in violation of the Big Ten Sportsmanship Policy.”

The school was previously scheduled to hold a hearing against the Big Ten on Friday, but Harbaugh will now miss games against Maryland and Ohio State.

Harbaugh has repeatedly denied any knowledge or involvement in unauthorized scouting of opponents.

With Michigan 10-0 and second in the Big Ten, it’s likely Harbaugh will return to the sidelines in the postseason.
