Newcastle winger Ryan Fraser has interest from Empoli.
The Scot is out of favor at St James’ Park, having been out of the squad this season and making just eight Premier League appearances last season.
Now Empoli could take him off their hands as they look to build on two consecutive 14th-place finishes since their return to Serie A.
Fraser joined Tyneside in 2020 on a five-year contract from Bournemouth and has been a consistent part of the team in his first two seasons.
However, he has found little joy under Eddie Howe, his former boss at the Cherries, and was even banned from training with the U21 in February, with the manager saying he only wanted players “dedicated to Newcastle”.

The Magpies yesterday added Lewis Hall, Chelsea’s Youth Player of the Year, to their ranks for £28 million plus extras next summer.
That could be the last of their summer earnings, as Howe said earlier this month he would like “one more signing” as the club tries to stay on the right side of Financial Fair Play rules.
With the arrival of Sandro Tonali, Tino Livramento and Harvey Barnes, they have strengthened their squad for a first Champions League season since 2003/04.
Having sold Allan Saint-Maximin and Chris Wood, they have lost some talent going forward, but the club will be hoping to fight for a top four finish again.
