The search for a man missing for hours after the boat he was in capsized has been called off for the night.
A rescue operation has been launched for a 23-year-old man who disappeared after the boat he was in sank in the Swansea Channel, south of Newcastle, New South Wales, just before 8pm on Saturday.
Three other men on board the ship, two aged 23 and one aged 20, were able to swim to land.
The boat likely struck an object, causing the people on board to be thrown into the ocean before the boat capsized.
Emergency services called off the search for the night around 10:30 p.m. They will resume on Sunday morning.
The 23-year-old driver of the boat was taken by the police for a mandatory test.
The other 23-year-old was treated at the scene by ambulance personnel and taken to hospital for further treatment for hypothermia.
