Newcastle planning a transfer for Chelsea trio Conor Gallagher, Ruben Loftus-Cheek and Hakim Ziyech during the January window…with Graham Potter willing to let just ONE player leave due to his team’s injury crisis

  • Newcastle are interested in Conor Gallagher, Ruben Loftus-Cheek and Hakim Ziyech
  • Graham Potter would be willing to let Ziyech out during the January window
  • But, the Chelsea boss would be against letting Gallagher and Loftus-Cheek go
  • Newcastle have also registered an interest in Scott McTominay and Ruben Neves.

Newcastle are reportedly interested in signing Conor Gallagher, Ruben Loftus-Cheek and Hakim Ziyech from Chelsea during the January transfer window.

According to The TelegraphGraham Potter would be willing to let Ziyech go as the 29-year-old has not been a consistent performer since joining in February 2020.

However, the Chelsea boss would be against letting Gallagher and Loftus-Cheek go as he worries about the growing injury problem within his team.

All three players could be interested in leaving Stamford Bridge during the January transfer window as they are struggling to cement a place in Potter’s starting XI.

Furthermore, the January arrivals of Mykhailo Mudryk, Joao Felix and Benoit Badiashile at Chelsea could push them further down the Potter pecking order.

Loftus-Cheek has been a long-term target for Newcastle. They registered interest in signing him during the last two summer windows, but failed to secure his services.

Newcastle have also shown interest in Manchester United midfielder Scott McTominay, who he has had playing time problems since Casemiro’s arrival at Old Trafford last summer.

The 26-year-old Scotland international made his last start for the club during United’s 6-3 defeat at Manchester City in October and has since been used as a late substitute on a number of occasions.

According to The Telegraph, McTominay would be open to joining Newcastle as he worries about his lack of shooting time under Dutch manager Erik ten Hag.

Newcastle are also keeping an eye on Ruben Neves as they believe the midfielder would be a valuable addition to their squad.

However, Eddie Howe has to be cautious with his budget and “has been warned that whatever he spends during the January window will be taken from the summer budget.”

Howe is believed to be prioritizing signing another central midfielder. However, he is also interested in signing a winger and a right-back during the January window.
